| Well, I am not the biggest fan of sticking your head where your opponent can easily elbow you in the back of the head, but when the opening presents itself, take it. My fav takedown for the old "ground and pound" would be a double leg take-down tackle football style with your shoulder tucked into his hips and your hands lifting up thier legs from under their knees/thighs. It turns into a single leg sometimes if they try to pancake out and in that case I will push them over in a 45 degree angle torwards the leg I have, stay inside and go to work.
Was that what you were looking for
Otherwise I will stay to the outside all together. Let's say I'm going for thier right leg. I will shoot (to my) left and push at their right hip with my right hand while putting my left hand on thier knee passing it out side (to make sure I don't get that leg in my crotch when he lands). Then I will stay on the outside and either finish with a lock or switch it up to a side mount if there is a struggle and take it from there.
mmmm, better
