Based on what I've read and heard, training at the shaolin temple is a joke...it is all wushu...flashiness and flying through the air....this is coming from a sifu I know who went there to study more. From what I can gather....taiwan would be the best asian place to go....or singapore. But to be quite honest...I've been told that the best and most highly trained instructors are here in the USA. Particularly in the westcoast area. ...not too sure why, but this makes a bit of sense to me.
I think if it was up to me, I wouldnt go to China to train...if I really felt the need to go outta country...I would go to Taiwan. I dont think I would want to live and train in communist China though....especially not being a citizen, not knowing the laws, the language, having employment, and being told the best instructors are in America (and England).
