elections??

Hi all,

I am wondering about something.

In most things i have seen in the US recentely, people call themselves either a democrat or a republican and this seems to inhibit their ability to make a decision on who is best for the job.

Numerous people have said oh i dont really thing Bush/Kerry is right for the job but i will vote for him anyway etc. Due to some feeling that they must be patriotic to the party they 'always' vote for etc. Regardless of the person at the top of the pile.

In the UK everybody i know tends to vote for who is right for the job and i dont know anyone that lables themselves as one political side or the other. Some still do - but very very few.

could this be the reason for how close the votes are now

It does seem a sumwhat strange situation that may not give a true representation of the public opinion.

Regards
Chris
