| What I'm getting at is that if you aren't sweating your ass off, then you're probably not working hard enough.
When I run, I don't run for distance (that is just a by-product), I run to keep my heartrate at a certain level for a certain amount of time. So I keep myself working hard for 25-30 minutes, then allow a 5 minute cool-down. I do about 3 miles in 25 minutes and that seems good for me. As I get into better condition I will not run for a longer period of time, I will simply run faster in that alloted timeframe so exponentailly I go a longer distance.
