Ah, yes...forgive my unabashed jumping onto the band wagon...it was too easy this time, and therefore, didnt count towards the green in my snappy quip scorecard.
Allow me to pull it out of the afore-mentioned gutter once again to remind you that your art thrives still, even amid the tomfoolery posted by those such as myself and Old Man. Sticks and stones....sticks and stones.

Rep Power: 49 | | | So how are all my Shaolin Do friends doing today? Have you all given your respects to GM Sin The today? Have you burnt your morning inscense stick this morning in his honor? You should if you haven't. GM Sin knows who is paying him homage and who isn't.

It's a joke. I refer to SD as like a cult. Kinda like Jim Jones and the cool aid thing. If GM Sin tells his students something they believe him. So I say have you drank your cool aid today.

Rep Power: 0 | | | It Still amazes me how long a thread raging on a paticular style can go on. It is also amazing that you can misquote, misinterpret, and flat out lie so much that by the end even you believe your own BS. I am a SD student and you have any questions I would be happy to give you my opionion on the subject |

Hey, Wanderingsoul. Welcome to the DL! I have a couple of friends who train in SD, (Texas). Other than the occassional cheap shot, I think a person's art is just that: theirs. It doesnt really matter to me how a said individual trains, or where. I have seen great fighters come out of schools that nobody would have thought could produce a great fighter. I have seen total glass jaws come out of some really tough gyms, too. It is not the style that makes the man (or woman!) but it IS the determination and fidelity to the process that can make or break you. I, myself, have no real questions, I can throw out a couple of stock Q's for you, though. What are some of your concerns, as an SD student? By concerns, I mean, what would you tell others who are skeptical about your system so as to right some misconceptions or set the record straight, so to speak? Happy foruming...

adding on. Welcome to the DL. Just and FYI you should probably head over to the newcomer section and introduce yourself. I don't know how much of this thread you read, but we've got a few ex-SDers on here. I myself made it to second brown sash before leaving.
If you want to talk about kung fu on the internet, you better prepare yourself for Sin The bashing. I just tune most of it out. All of my beef with the SD system had to do with elder students and the sheer amount of politics in the system. The best you can do is address each persons specific problem, but at the end of the day, this is the internet and some folk just like to talk trash. Just have fun with it.

Rep Power: 0 | | | Thank you WuSung and Ace6foot8 for welcoming me. Its nice to find a place where serious Martial Arts student can discuss topics. As far as Sin The' he is just a man and everyone is entitled to thier opinion so bash away. I do take issue with the replies in which opinions and falsehoods are stated as fact. I joined here to at least try to make sure that criticisms are accuate. | |
