In avoiding all the side discussions on the value of forms and to answer the original question, as best I can understand what you are asking, I would say......... - you need to understand what the martial application is behind the move
- what and where the intended target is in every move
- make every strike with intention - like you are actually hitting someone AND as if it was a real combat situation. This includes more than the actual strike but also things like eye focus when you strike the "target" and if you are supposed to yell something at any point, do it with utter ferocity, not half-
ed.
