Daai Sing Pek Kwar

(a southern monkey style, with close ties to some other famous styles)

Pek Gwar is the same is Pi Gua. These guys are Southerners that learned a Northern system. But you can see the difference in how they play it. Most Northern guys in China just play their forms as hyperextended as possible, even the traditional guys.

Here's Southern Pek Kwa from YC Wong's school.

YC Wong learned Pek Kwa in Hong Kong from Kan Tak Hoi who put together Dai Sing Pek Gwa Kuen system that Chan Sau Chung has maintained.

It's a little different than the piqua from the Northern side.

Where did the Monkey aspects come from? I've never seen ANY Monkey as part of old school Northern Pigua before.

That's from Kan Tak Hoi's teacher. He combined the Southern Pek Kwa above with what he saw the monkeys doing from his jailhouse window (so the story goes).

In Chan Sau Chung's school (son runs it now), first you learn & master Pek Kwa, then you learn the Dai Sing.
