paulie zink & his monkey style

I saw this topic on another m.a. forum so I though I would get your all's oppinion or thoughts on the subject. Is Paulie Zink's monkey style traditional (and legit) or is he a fraud (about his lineage and being traditional). Also, is his monkey style applicable for street combat? Some argue that he is not traditional and that he has a fraudulant lineage. On this other forum they say that his monkey style doesn't look like traditional monkey and that what he does is not suitable for real fighting on the streets but rather better for tournament competition. What are your thoughts on Paulie Zink? Is he a master or a fraud or a person just out for money?

Opinions vary, but he refused to meet with Chan Sau Chung, the acknowledged head of Tai Sing Pek Kwa on multiple occasions so the story goes.

His monkey looks nothing like CSC's & I've never seen him do Pek Kwa.

From there it's pure speculation, but things aren't necessarily in his corner on it.

I actually won a video of his WAY back from IKF in their "guess who" contest. The video seemed pretty well made which means he at the very least cares enough about what he is doing to put time and thought into it.

As for the material, I would actually have to cross hands with him or his students to say. So I will reserve judgement.

Lineage wise...there probably is something there. Chinese arts are terrible in this department, so honestly I personally wouldn't care one way or another about who he learned what from, or what it is called. My only concern would be his ability as a teacher, and the quality of what he is teaching.

i have to agree. If something is worth learning and is applicable to street fighting then I'll learn it. I don't really care about who taught it to them or where they got the stuff from.

Did any of the stuff look like it could be used for real?
