Rep Power: 0 | | Cobra Kung Fu Hi, wonder if anyone can tell me more about Cobra style Kung Fu or provide references. My Sifu showed me a number of different types of kicks and combinations that are supposed to be part of the Cobra Kung Fu style.
I tried to find something more about the style, but it seems to be a very little information available.
Typical things included combination of kicks and strikes. You started with kicking foot behind other leg and turned into the kick. A lot of the combinations included hits and grabs to different nerves.
Appreciate any comments. |

Rep Power: 13 | | | I have heard of snake style systems but never specifically a "Cobra" kung fu. I would do a little more investigation on this one. |

Rep Power: 34 | | | Is Cobra kung fu anything like the Cobra Kai, or the Cobras from the dodgeball movie

Rep Power: 13 | | What about Cobra Commander
Just kidding dragon, it just sounds to made up. I think you really need to do some research. I will ask my Master if he has heard of anything like that.
Good luck |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Thanks for the comments. I found the similar links. I do not think that Cobra is made up, as this was described by Master Shou from Beijing who was here in California 2 weeks ago to visit the Buddhist monestery in Montecito. He normally do Monkey and Mantis style but showed these movements from Cobra. My understanding is that the Cobra is supposed to be a special form of Snake style. |

Rep Power: 9 | | | There is a whole cobra system to the Bando Martial Art. One of the issues of Inside Kung Fu had an article on this system and its techniques. Give me about a day to dig up the exact issue if you want Let me know |

Rep Power: 81 | | | I'm interested. We really can't rule any style out there are so many esoteric styles out there.
I was surprised when I heard there was chicken and turtle style. Duck or goose style, Dog, Shark, Alligator.
Why not a Cobra

Rep Power: 13 | | I did find a few things out about Cobra kung fu. Here is a write up on the www.shaolin.com web site with little info. See if this sounds familiar. | “ | with regards to Cobra Kung Fu.....
Cobra, in contrast, did not emphasize highly recognizable or showy techniques but rather very serious strikes to nerves and pressure points. Its characteristic hand technique was an open hand with the thumb curled underneath in order to maintain dynamic tension. | ” | |
Also there is apparently a martial arts that actually calls itself "Cobra Martial Arts". It was developed by some guy named Darryl Grauman in 1988. His is a mix of Judo, Ju-jitsu and various styles of Kung fu. Maybe that might be something |

Rep Power: 13 | | | Do not know of Cobra, but one time heard of a form, I believe is Shaolin,
" Black Snake Poison Finger " .
So far as Snake style goes I like it a lot, unfortunately, we only have a little bit of it in Pok Hok Pai. I would love to have a chance to study it in depth.
