My Structural Quest: How Lower Back Problems Drove Me to Connect East and West

There's a new blog entry added:

My Structural Quest: How Lower Back Problems Drove Me to Connect East and West

Chicken or the egg....? Good posture contributes to good structure and muscle balance. However, when I started training in CMA three years ago, I had a tough time with balance, breathing, and concepts of center. It shouldn't have been hard, after all, I have been an athlete most of my life and know the importance of these concepts. Since I have back problems, caused by past sports injuries, a desk job, weight gain, and 15 degrees scolioses in my lower lumbar, I had sort of lost my way. My body tried to compensate but the results were not good. I had to understand how my body had adapted...and not in a good way. Then I had to find out where the difficiencies were and try to correct them before I could experience progress in my training.

Thanks for sharing research...

Thanks for sharing your research -I've found it interesting -CMA and taichi have helped me with my posture but not after making mistakes and learning alot about myself...

Nice one TCM, this is an area I've been very interested in for a few weeks. Some good links, definitely a step in the right direction. I'm still looking for more detail, though.

Interesting how long you can train and how much you can learn, and still this sort of basic stuff needs more detail.
