Not to mention the fact that the guy behind you can see what you are doing and move his leg/body just enough to make that particular bit of sharp-shooting a low-percentage way of just off balancing yourself.

Rep Power: 100 | | | That can definately work, but you really have to catch him unawares with it. If he sees what you're up to, you may just end up getting your face driven into the ground.

Rep Power: 100 | | | I have done that in competition, but not real good competition, and I wouldn't think of it as a first go-to option. Just something to pull out of your hat now and again.

Rep Power: 111 | | | What's the difference between pulling something out of your hat and pulling something out of your ass?

Mainly the smell, but for some people (think Migo, Happeh) nothing at all.

Rep Power: 10 | | | yeah I always got told to sink your weight, then start trying to stomp toes. if you can slap at his face and groin, so much the better, but the toes and shins are you primary targets.

There are so many more fundamental things that should be done but we keep seeing all these substitute techniques being mentioned....
My god..... People wonder why traditional martial arts get so much flack....

Position is the key. Stomping the foot, gouging the eyes, biting the testicals... all that is worthless if you are in an inferior position. Protect the neck, attack the arm (either one depending on your position), put your back to a wall or the floor.... If they want you on the ground, go there, it will only help you if you know what to do with it.
