Rep Power: 0 | | | Uploads You can set up a public (read/write/no delete permissions) FTP for uploads and move them to less public (read only section) after being moderated and a small admin to place the URL, title and description (maybe length and file sizes too). One thing I made here at work (I am a video software engineer) was an ActiveX control (web page plugin) to upload the videos files on a web page since regular HTTP uploading has a 2mb limit. If you give me the specs I can do it for you pretty easily although you would have to buy a $700 a year digital signature certificate. For your needs the public FTP would most likely be best. However there is another option that may be even better. Use something like Putfile, make the users a page where they can enter that URL, the title and description. This way you don't have to store it, the videos go up immediately and can be moderated out when convenient. Then of course there is all the work displaying/searching them. If there is anything you need from me just ask as I am a director level software engineer with over 10 years experience in dozens of platforms and languages. Regards and thank you for offering something like this to us. |

Rep Power: 5 | | | FTP would be the easiest way.. however then ppl who wanted to upload something had to get ftp client and learn to use it. I'we seen many PHP based website uploaders and I belive that they can upload more than 2mb

Rep Power: 99 | | | Is there any way you can protect the material people put up? Jeff.C just got a load of his black tiger stuff pilfered from here and it was a real shame to see it go since it was such a rare bit of information. Should people be prepared for their information to be copied?

Rep Power: 18 | | | That is a good point about the pilfering. However I think if it is known that people will have the ability to save the vids and such to their computer, poeple will post things they are comfortable with that happening with. I will post some stuff, no problem.

Rep Power: 81 | | | I am anxious to see some stuff here. Has there been any progress in this direction?
I too would not particularly want to post what could be taken individually. Not quite sure whay that would bother me ? Or I'd have to stick to foarms that are commonly known.

Rep Power: 17 | | | I would also love to see this, but I can not say I can help much for a few reasons , none of them being that I don't want to. Passing on knowledge to others is part of being a MA, hording it for yourself is just selfish. I do not own a video camera to capture anything and I now that my forms are incomplete and need alot of work, so there really not on a level to help anyone. Just realize that posting your form, or so on, that you open yourselvles up to be critized and it is not an attack on you or your form but could even help. I'm sure that I will not be making any bad comments about anyone due to my own lack of knowledge, but will be eager to not only see what some of you look like but also see and learn some nice forms. As of right now this may be the only way for me to get some instruction and direction.!
