Rep Power: 111 | | | Work is the POOP! This is a thread about pooping...specifically my pooping. My health area of expertise lies in actual exercise and fitness and not so much the general health department, so I need some outside input on this one.
My normal pooping pattern has generally been 1 poop/day ~2 hours after I wake up.
My pooping pattern since I started this new job 4 months ago has changed to ~3 poops/day at ~10am, 1pm, & 4pm. Basically roughly every 3 hours since I wake up until I get home. Now when I get home, no more pooping until the next day of work. And if I have the day off, my pooping goes back to the old routine of 1/day ~2 hours after I wake up.
So I think its safe to assume something at work is making me irregular, but I'm not sure what the "poop factor" is. Now one thing to note is that I'm not constipated or anything...in fact I am normally done and out in under 2min.
Any thoughts or insights on this ****ty subject?

I just wanted to get in on this thread so I can type "poop" all I want.

Rep Power: 111 | | | I don't drink coffee at all...can't stand the stuff. I have 1 caffeine drink a day, either a soda or tea at lunch. =/
And my diet isn't different on the weekend vs. the weekdays, just the time I wake up really. But the pooping cycles are very different.

Rep Power: 111 | | | That's the only thing I can think of, or something to do with sitting at a desk in an office all day.

Rep Power: 0 | | | I actually have a pretty much identical situation. At school (living on campus) I've got the 3/day thing going on, when I'm back at home its 1/day. The only thing I've ever come up with as different between the two is stress level. I dont know how, why, or if poop and stress relate, but there it is. |

Rep Power: 160 | | | Stress, boredom (a kind of stress), volume of liquid drunk and sweated, posture, sedentary vs active daily routine, level of activity the day before, amount and time eaten, any environmental or pollution factors... the list is endless and the process isn't completely understood (what do all those different kinds of bacteria do and which are good and which bad?)
For the hell of it learn to do shoulder stand correctly and practice it for 5 min every workday morning before work. See if it has any impact.

Rep Power: 111 | | | Very helpful John. I'll check out that Shoulder Stand and maybe add it to the morning workout routine I say I will do every morning. >_>;;

Rep Power: 160 | | Seriously, a 15 min routine heavy on twists and shoulder stand done correctly could make a significant difference over "some time".
"Some time" is a few days to a few months depending on the teacher and how intense they make the practice.
Course, there's bound to be stuff in the health side of whatever arts you train that you already know that would do the same... if you got out of bed and did that routine before work
Again, not proven, but pretty common - going running doesn't always help.
