It covers the basics of sukhasana. Time spent in the pose can help with sciatica. There's a lot more to it than is presented in the clip.
With a dodgy knee be very careful with hip openers. Keep both sitting bones on the floor all the time. Don't let the stretch shift forward out of the hips. Don't go so far forward you can't stay in the posture comfortably for five min. Consider placing the lower foot in front of the upper knee rather than under it. Aim for a box shape with the upper legs parallel to each other and the lower legs parallel to each other. The lower legs need to be well in front of you. Consider a block or low table or chair to rest your forehead on if you can't reach the floor. Rest with your hairline on the support and your spine evenly rounded. Breathe in and out through the nose. Breathe into the kidneys. As you breathe in feel the lower back expand and stretch the sacral area. On the outbreath move the breath up the spine putting a bubble of air between each vertebra.

I don't need to sell my soul, he's already in me
I get a cortizone shot in my hip joint about every 8 months to a year and it helps me a great deal. I have unstable hip joints from wrestling in high school and being slammed down to the mat and from kicking a heavy bag doing martial arts (the shock waves going up my leg to the hip). I also had a torn muscle in my lower back. As a result of all this I get VERY bad lower back pain almost where my ciatica is but it's not that. I go to a doctor now that gives me a shot of cortizone to help with the pain. It's great for me. Never had any probs from it. The doctor said that where I only go every 8 months to a year that I won't have any of the bad effects from it where as if I went once a month or so I would have MAYBE some side effect from it. Hope this helps your decision. Sorry posted so late.
