I think that is a terrible mistake, that will have the effect of creating drug addicted people who can not have a normal moment without the drug and thus feed their PTSD.

I mean, alcohol worked great but after a point, I had to cut down big time as I couldn't do anything without a bottle in my hand and binging for 23 hours a day, it gave me the ability to feel normal, calm and happy but once I stopped drinking those effects went away so I had to increase my consumption and intake amounts to get it back.

You know what actually helped?
Actual therapy and nothing but, talking with mates still serving or retired and many who had, are or were going through PTSD.
Aside from therapy, there are numerous other therapies that have proven effect on deeply routed sufferers such as EMDR, CT and SIT

Man a lot of guys in my unit are alcoholics, and plenty are affected by PTSD, I understand what there trying to do, but their just giving people a crutch, the only thing that helps is to talk about it with people who have lived through similar experiences. God bless them for trying though.
To all my Marines or brothers in arms with PTSD, Semper Fi Brothers.
