Rep Power: 24 | | | I don't know if my parents went to the wrong stores in America, but they paid something like 5-10$ a gallon for spring water. As for the tapwater bill, that would be 1$ a day and it includes showering, brushing your teeth, watering your lawn, washing your dishes, etc...unless you have a tap especially for drinking.

The more for me, then. And you don't know what your missing....the downside of being Mormon.....
Also, drink Gatorade its better for you than powerade, or at least that is what the trainer for the lady vols basketball team told me. I forget the reason but I know UT Athletics takes performance extremely seriously.

Yeah. . . caffeine headaches, hang overs, ulcers. . . I'm deprived.
As for Gatorade vs Powerade, the latter is cheaper.

?!?!?!? Seriously? Spring water at the supermarket is like 69 cents a gallon down here. Even a 6 pack of Fiji water doesn't cost $10.

Yeah, I don't know about 10$. Maybe if they were in the middle of the mojave desert I could see 5-10$ a gallon. Pepto bismol runs about 200$ a gallon. |

Gatorade: Ingredients: water, sucrose syrup, glucose-fructose syrup, citric acid, natural and artificial flavors, salt, sodium citrate, monopotassium phosphate, ester gum, sucrose acetate isobutyrate, red 40, blue 1
Powerade: Ingredients: water, high fructose corn syrup, maltodextrin (glucose polymers), citric acid, salt, natural flavors, potassium citrate, potassium phosphate, niacinamide, yellow 5, pyridoxine hydrochloride, blue 1, cyanocobalamin
I go for powerade when in the states - less chance of the 'natural and artificial' flavouring containing aspartamine or something similar.
Because of the number of artificial ingredients in these things I normally avoid them and drink water unless I really need the energy - a full day's paddling, or hiking at speed without time for food breaks. All I really want is the salts and a little of the sugars. Evian do an energy drink that seems pretty much 'natural' ingredients but it's hard to come by.

Maybe they were buying mineral water? When I was in Europe if you asked for "water" or "spring water" you got mineral water, if you wanted plain water it was "water without gas." You also had to put up with weird looks, LOL.
A liter of imported mineral water (San Pellegrino, e.g.) can cost between $2-4 in the States.

Rep Power: 24 | | | That could be it, mineral water's the only water you buy in Switzerland, if you want flat water, you take it from the tap.

Rep Power: 4 | | | Guys, just for a second here I'd like to be serious. Some places in the world don't have water readily available and I'm thankful that I have a gallon jug of water to drink in my room everyday. Please, don't look at my earlier comments about water being free and take it as water is worth nothing, because I think we can all agree water is very valuable. |
