Rep Power: 0 | | | Reducing Bodyfat Hi guys
I'm looking to really get my bodyfat down to as low as I possibly can.
Does anyone have any advice regarding diet/calories, supplements, workouts, etc.
I am 26 years old, 6ft3 and 14.5stone. I have started eating between 1900-2300 calories a day. I perform 3 full-body weights workouts a week and aim for 45 minutes of intense cardio 6-7 times a week, usually on the elliptical trainer.
Any advice would be gratefully received. |

I don't know about the bodyfat, but you'd probably lose a lot of weight if you got rid of those stones. They can be heavy. |

Rep Power: 16 | | | I just read an artical that suggests working out in the early morning (before you have breakfast) will burn more body fat. If you work out later in the day you burn calories you've consumed earlier that day. It also seems that like your diet, the exersize you do in the morning sets metabolism for the day.
A friend mentioned doing cardio and then weight training will burn more calories than doing one or the other.

Rep Power: 8 | | | there was this really simple qigong exercise my master had mentioned to me, something really so simple it didnt look rite. But this only reduces excess body fat nothing more. umm ill check it out with him. but eat a variety of fruits and veggies, no sweets or neffin high in kilojules or calories. And i cant really relate to your weight and heigt since ive learnt the metric system.

I've read the cardio first then weights idea before too. Whichever you do first will get more of your effort but doing weights first will have less of an impact on your cardio than doing cardo first will have on your weights - apparantly.
Some chi kung does seem to boost the metabolism.
Personally, I recomend a few days mountaineering. Scramble around all day too cold and miserable to stop and eat anything, and then fall into your sleeping bag after some dried fruit and cheese for dinner. Every time my body fat gets above 34-14% I end up doing this and it takes it back down again.

Not as often as I'd like. I usually put in a couple of weeks in Scotland when the snow starts. The odd week/weekend in Wales. Holiday is usually somewhere with a beach for the wife and propper hills for me. I can't face the pain of keeping in shape for real climbing these days so it's whatever I can get up solo without a rope and, in winter, with only one ice axe. It adds up to a few weeks a year. Corsica was the last place, last summer. If you ever get chance get up to the col de bavella and go climb a needle... I keep trying to kick off a discussion ( Climb every mountain?) but you guys are all too busy doing kung fu to climb I guess.
re: chi kung that increases metabolism. I'm told skull shining (tea kettle breathing) does this - pranayama rather than chi kung but worth a try.

staying off thread for one more post... try Slovenia. Triglav is the easiest two day alpine climb that still merits the name (and you can do some peaks from the cable car) .. the highest I've climbed was http://www.peakware.com/encyclopedia/peaks/wilhelm.htm

Just to clarify guys I'm 200 lbs.
The whole working out before breakfast theory is unproven really. A lot of people think it's a myth and that it is all about calories in vs calories out.
Has anyone here lost a lot of weight at any time in their life? If so, any tips? |

If you have the right attitude and will power you can do ii, without anyones advice or help ... We ( us ppl at Dl ) are just here to help you and tell you whats right and wrong.
my vote is .. get a good diet going and regular cardio. You should see a differnce with just that.

spread your meals out through out the day, workout at a time which you think feels good but also must aid you in your goal.

I've been able to drop quite a few pounds when I was into weight control. I ate right and rode an exercise bike everyday. No crazy workouts, just me, my bike and a trash bag over me.
Usually I would eat boiled eggs for breakfast, tomato slices and tuna for lunch, then just tuna and rice for dinner.
