Eating meat is healthy, just have to know what/how to eat in it.
You wouldnt go eating sem-poisonous mushrooms, so use your head and dont eat the unhealthy portion of meat. |

Rep Power: 37 | | well most of indian are non meat eaters due to social/economic reasons.
even I myself rarely eat meat... I do not think it's such a big deal about being vegetarian. | “ | I think that all who understand the philosophy of kung fu,should not eat no meat. | ” | |
I think philosophy of KF hav no connection with eating meat.
after reading Warrior Diet.. I started to think of "scavenger and hunter" terms.
basically Hunter is one who gathers is own food. and scavenger is one who doesnt. and it's natural Hunters are strong n atheletic
so wat it comes down to "hunt for your own food" in this century means look out for your food. making right choice and eating fresh.

Rep Power: 8 | | | Living for kungfu and being a buddhist, I don't have any problem with eating meat, even if it's not what I like most. A lot of scientific researches shoes that the human body is not made to eat mostly meat though. We are not carnivorous, we are omnivorous. That means, like monkeys, we can eat meat, but we cannot exagerate. Everything is in the quantity. Eating meat once a while is good for your health. But eating meat 3 times a day is not. As for the moral thing, a buddhist master once told: «Some say eating meat is not good because you kill a living entity. But what about vegetables? With all the pesticids it took to preserve the plantation, a lot of insects died in the process...».

I lived that way for 2 or 3 years and it did feel good...
then my wife got pregnant and all she wanted was....
MEAT!!!!
so that was the end of our vegetarian jouney...
on the good side:
I gained TONS of musclemass when I started eating meat again
no extra training, just different food...
I don't think I'll ever go back there...
I like meat..

We never would've evolved to reach anywhere near the top of the food chain if we didn't eat meat. And technically, you kill plants when you eat them too (suddenly reminded of a song called "Salad is for Murderers").
I did try being a vegetarian once, my doctor told me to stop whatever diet I was trying because my blood-sugar and iron was unhealthily low. Due to food allergies, I can't eat many of the foods you need to eat instead of meat to be a healthy vegetarian. I can't eat fish/seafood, nuts, certain fruits/veggies, I can't even stomach the iron supplements my doc suggested I take. (I'm also allergic to many grains which makes it hard to load up on carbs the night before a belt test...) Food allergies suck.
