We all know we should try to eat well and in moderation. But in reality, who doesn't scarf the junk every now and again?
My question is: What is the healthiest food that you honestly enjoy eating?
Mine is, as many here already know, Natto.
What about the rest of y'all? |

Rep Power: 87 | | | For you spinach fans, throw in some dried cherries, pecans or walnuts, gorgonzola, red onion and grilled chicken. For dressing, use poppyseed or rasberrry/cherry vinagrette....MMMMMM!

nop... moreover the kind of butter(called makhan) goes with this spinach is home made and it's far better than any types found in markets.

Rep Power: 64 | | | Actually, there's very few "healthy" foods I don't like. Greens, fruits, dairy, veggies, even brussel sprouts. Problem is I live on my own and it's difficult to finish off produce I get before it goes bad.

What is Natto?
There was an article in Time Magazine a year or so ago about the healthiest foods out there. Two of the healthiest foods were two of my favorite foods - blueberries and salmon (not together, please). I believe there were other things on the list that I also enjoy, but these two are near the top of my list, and also near the top of the list of healthiest foods.
Made me feel pretty good, since most of my eating habits really aren't so wonderful (they're also not by any means terrible, partly thanks to being married to a nutritionist). Eventually, I'll get old enough for my metabolism to catch up and tell me to start eating better more consistently. |

Jaron,
Although the Dairy Council has powerful lobbyists that have pretty much forced the people who should know better to tell everyone how healthy dairy products are, they're not especially healthy. They're not especially unhealthy either, as the militant vegans out there would probably have you believe, but many of their benefits are wasted on humans (because mother nature made that particular food specifically for baby cows). People extoll the virtues of milk's high calcium, for example, but because of milk's other properties, only a small percentage of it is actually absorbed by us.
I like milk and other dairy products as much as the next guy (more than the next guy, possibly, since so many humans are lactose intolerant), but as far as foods go, it's not all that great for us. Hell of a lot better for us than a lot of other foods, though, but that's not saying too much. |

Rep Power: 100 | | | Bananas! They're my favorite, and I like most other fruit as well. And broccoli. Yeah...I guess that's about it. Oh, and I love salads, but with all the stuff I put on them, they're probably not too healthy by the time I'm done.
