Oh it's probably violating a ton of codes, LOL. One of the drawbacks to renting in Boston, anything remotely affordable is going to be far from "modernized." I'm not sure but I think the state wrote some exceptions in their building codes for really old houses like this one (100+ yrs.). But they're not supposed to be permanent exceptions...

At any rate we're looking for something further out now. In a couple of years we'll probably give up on Mass. completely. It's the only state in the U.S. that loses more residents each year than it brings in.

That looks neat! I just got something kind of similar, but just boils water and I love it because it's quick and automatically shuts off.

This is my idea of a cordless kettle, I've never seen those other ones.

Then again I have a coffee maker ( don't use it for such ) but it's great to set it to program so you have a pot of hot water when you wake on cold mornings.

So I broke the tea pot and wrote sunbeam about it and they are sending me a new pot totally free and I don't even have to pay for shipping. I was shocked. I totally didn't expect it. Just wanted everybody to know.

Haha I am totally with you on this. I use a range top kettle and or a Coffee pot (that doesn't make coffee) with teaballs full of looseleaf teas.

Wacky I know!!
