What does anyone know here about Red Bull and training.
Am trying to get off that stuff, had a hectic month last month with year end at work, family stuff and trying to fit in training in between. Was drinking Red Bull Sugar free on those days I didnt get enough sleep or hadnt had breaks and it kept me all together. Maybe it was just psycological but it felt like it helped.
Ive heard people claim to have died from drinking that stuff but apparently there were no scientific links in all the cases.
Its suppose to give you energy and was wondering if it can be a useful aid when in training. |

Rep Power: 41 | | I'm sure in the short run it won't cause too many problems (if taken in moderation).
However, keep in mind that it's a caffine based stimulant, so you will become dependent on it over the long haul, provided you ingest it frequently.
Besides, that stuff is expensive. Last I checked, water was darn good for you and rather value priced

Rep Power: 24 | | | Eat a balanced diet. I eat roughly once every three hours (five meals a day). What is in these meals changes throughout the day. For instance, so far today I've had:
0730: Flax/protein shake with morning vitamins
1030: My personal fruit salad with a glass of chocolate soy milk
1330: Chicken sandwich and a glass of coke (I know I shouldn't, but I do)
1530: Planning on a banana, soy milk, and an orange
It's 1500 now so I haven't actually made it yet, but I will. As far as Red Bull goes I can't imagine it would be in any way good for you during training. A couple of the guys I spar with have tried Red Bull and other things (like NO X-PLODE) and just get really tired and very sick at the end of class.

Rep Power: 0 | | | Like any caffeinated drink, Red Bull will give you a jolt or boost at the start of training and very quickly wear you out. Not worth it, especially for martial arts training, since the caffein overloads the nervous system leading to burnout (quick reflexes are a must in training). Also, like Hazmat said, it will lead to dependence if taken frequently. |

Rep Power: 100 | | Red Bull once started with some potential, but nowadays it's just like any cola , way too sweet water
no coffeedrinker will lose a minute of sleep when drinking Red Bull late at night
the only stuff that really gives you a powerfull energy boost is illegal (nowadays)
so ya better listen to Hazmat and Joyseau...
that's a lot healthier...

Rep Power: 6 | | | ACK! Red bull tastes awfull! I prefer a small bar of chocolate before training and a LOT of water after training. Tried red bull... Well, I drink something like 5-6 cups of coffee every day, I could just drink it and fall asleep the very next second. |

People mix it with alcohol, and while it may not be dangerous. My money is on the fact that it's eating away at your liver at a much quicker rate than just having one of these separately.

Rep Power: 13 | | | i personally think red bull is disgusting unless it is with some jager....it is still gross...but the jager helps. although i dont know how safe it is to mix the 2 together that much.

It says on the can not to mix with alcohol....
In Canada they won't even mix that for you, just give you a shot of Vodka and Redbull... if you mix it, it's not their liability i guess.... | “ | the only stuff that really gives you a powerfull energy boost is illegal (nowadays) | ” | |
Not if you live in Thailand!
and what's illegal in thailand is perfectly legal in Burma (Myanmar)!!
Ketamine, Opium, Hashish, Anabolic Steroids, Marijuana, Vallium, Viagra (i can see the ears perking up from that one! haha)... all available in the pharmacy! Can u imagine the kind of things you could buy in "the back room"!?

Rep Power: 41 | | | Here's the skinny as best as I know.
Red Bull with Jagermeister makes an excellent martini. Problem is, the red bull tends to mask the naturally fatiguing effects of the alcohol. End result? Someone drinking Red Bull and alcohol will often consume much more alcohol than they would normally. Couple that with intense exercise (say dancing perhaps), some people have been known to overload their body to the point of damage.
So, it sounds to me we come back to the Universal Constant in life.
Too much of anything is bad for you.

I read a study in Men's Fitness about that i believe...and the conclusion was that Red Bull also decreases the affect of alchol...so it's probably a little more balanced due to that...
