You need to stay that way... Sorry. In fact, given your goals and time frame ... you may need to be hungrier.
Watch the fruit - a small handfull of raisins, or a mango once a day isn't going to hold you back. Three mangos a day is going to be sugar and if you're snacking then you're going to have that sugar on hand when you train... and it's going to be that you burn rather than your reserves.
For comparison...
when "trecking" (impossible to explain, something like spending 8 hours on the kokoda trail before it got civilised but tougher) I used to eat a small bowl of oats with a half tablespoon of milk powder mixed with water for breakfast, a couple of cucumbers or an orange or nothing for lunch and some sweet potato, tinned meat, and greens for dinner. It was about 30 - 35 Centigrade and humid and I'd drink about 1 - 1.5 litres water. On that diet you lean very quickly.
On a yoga retreat, I'll be training hard 5 - 6 hours in a day, eating a handful of raisins for breakfast, salad for lunch, and a small normal meal - (veg, meat, starch) for dinner. Again, it's a diet that will lean you down fast.
You should be visibly and noticeably leaner after a week or you can go hungrier. (All this assumes you can go back to your previous healthy habbits after this insane test).
One thing to watch - your water intake seems relatively high (if you are doing creatine stop now, it's half your problem) - and your diet, apart from the cereal, low in salt for the amount you must be sweating... if you need it (dehydration symptoms, feeling fuzzy, headaches, etc.) consider upping your salt intake and supplementing potassium etc. in a good multi vitamin.

Given you have a week and a half to two weeks left right?
Cut food out to absolute bare minimum, get used to the starving feeling, cut water out to the absolute bare minimum, get used to the thirsty feeling, increase salt intake to supplement the loss of water.
Just pain cut out the snacking, often people snack with things that are healthy but they way over do it ruining the benefits and thus still gain weight and all the negative side effects.
Time to super increase the PE, bust off as much weight as you possibly can in the time left, if you guys have a sauna on base or near by, hang out in there for long periods(can intake more water to make up for the loss while doing this, but with this only and still not at the normal intake level you were).
Take a good multi vitamin/etc like John suggested to make up for the loss in food intake.

Rep Power: 100 | | | Oh yes, if you are doing "supplements" like roids, creatin, or other sorts of medication, that definetly is a problem.
The problem is balance - getting you down with some hunger, but without doing harm to the body when for example there is not enough protein in your diet (which causes muscle and in the end brain protein being consumed). Protein is good, so IF you stay away from fat/oil and carbs/sugar on the same day, you can eat some chicken (i.e., watery soup, no noodles, and green salads on that day).
Do NOT cut down on water now !!!! That is something you do on the last 2 days before your weight is measured !!!!!! Ask the grapplers and Cam here how you make weight safely, on the last week.

Rep Power: 100 | | | On another note, anyone knowing what it would take to import a dieting product to the US, consisting of mainly amino acids (no drugs), regulationswise ? I saw when doing a research that the number one german dieting product and athlets supplement is not available on the US eBay, so there might be a good marketing chance there. Albeit, I have this slight suspicion that the producer should be already working on that himself (former german olympic sports star).

Rep Power: 41 | | | The only supplaments I've been taking is Hydroxycuts...and thats because my First Sergeant keep pestering me about taking them. Water Ive been drinking alot due to the High humidity and workout scheduals, but will start trying to cut back. just dont want to keel over on a PT test. So any recomendations as to a safe amount for working out about 2.5 to 3.5 hours a day in about 80 degree F and 70 to 90% humidity (I actually love this weather...reminds me of home FLORIDA!!!)
If I may rant for a momemt please excuse it. We recently had our old extra PT instructor who has been having use do 4 sets of 10 at a comfortable heavy wieght with 25 crunchs (crunch very depending on portion of the excercise). In 2.5 months I have just fluxuated btwn 202 and 205 pounds. He wasnt able to run extra PT for about 3 weeks and I started doing a different routing mon, wens, fri run 20 mins doing intervals on tredmil and upper body excercises 3 sets of 15 ot 15,15,12 depending on the excercise. tues, and thrus lower body with 20 mins eliptical trainer 10 mins excercise bike. Every set is done in a circuit so you do one set over the whole area ur working and then you either Jump rope or do some other cardio for 2 to 5 mins then repeat 2 more times. I started dropping in wieght very quickly didnt need a diet had done this working out before I got hurt and was in good shape. I tell this sergeant this and he tells me ok I gotcha. So now we have to thed exact same thing as before but instead of 25 crunches btwn each set of we continuously do crunches until its our turn again on that machine. Its frustrating because A) Im not feeling a ab workout that much anymore and B) I told him exactly what needs to be done and the whys and pretty much got....This is better that way is doing to much. |

Rep Power: 160 | | | LOL, "too much"? What about too much crunches? What is this obsession with crunches?
As for water - it takes me a week to sweat out the water natural to working in an office in a cool country and drinking endless camomille tea. At the humidity and temp you mention I'd be on 1 - 1.5 litres a day and sweat lean over a week working waay more hours but at lower intensity for much of them... BUT this is going to be completely individual specific. Two things to watch - even slight dehydration is a guaranteed 10% performance drop and it gets worse from there until you collapse. You can overhydrate if you suck up and sweat out water (and with it salts) and don't replenish the salts - and the end result is the same as dehydrating. Experiment for yourself - if you're thirsty drink - just don't drink for the sake of it - and a couple of days before think about cutting down a bit.
Don't forget you're getting water in your fruit.
Protein - a controversial one. No question - it's good for long term benefits and it's good energy - but it needs water to digest it - and I've always just accepted leaning down means burning off some of my scant muscle.

Rep Power: 41 | | I dont know what there thing is with the crunches. A common thing I hear here is that Free wieght excercises burn more calories than calastetics or cardio which goes against everything I've ever learned about fitness. I know that the more muscle mass the more calories burned because the muscle is heavier and takes more energy to move around than the fat I understand that but that applies to running and cardio too which is what boggles my mind. The crunches I dont know I guess they think spot burning actually works. Shrug! |

Rep Power: 100 | | | Especially in hot areas, do NOT dehydrate, let alone over a long period like two weeks. What you can sweat out, can be sweat out over 3 days or less, if you really need it. You just have to "bring your weight" on a certain day, so focus on being good on that day, scalewise. Write a PM to Lugaldamhara or Unkotare to ask on how to make weight the last few days, safely.
There is a good supplement for losing weight while GAINING or keeping muscle mass, from a german athlet who is also a doctor. It's just not too cheap, at almost $50 a box of which I think you need 2 for a month. He lost 18 kilos (~45-50lb) in 6 months and then got the oldest world champion in his sports ever, in a sprint discipline. Originally this was just some cooking recipe for big pans of turkey and chicken with certain spices and vegetables, then he made it into a powder supplement. However, I don't know wether you can order it online without problems, or if it has to get some FDA acceptance.

Yes!!! WHOLE grains, not prepared, boxed cereals that have no real grain left in them. It's all sugar, salt and hydrogenated oil to cover up the taste of the rancid grain it use to be. Don't even get me started on puffed cereals.
Hydroxy-cut!?!? Are you trying to have a heart attack or something????
O.K. My FINAL weight loss secret. (But only 'cause I don't want the brother to die)
*One tablespoon of pure-virgin coconut oil per day. Don't try to eat it off the spoon. Mix it into a little bowl of hot, brown rice or other grain.
O.K. I'm done. Good luck G.H. Don't be afraid of a little hunger. It only hurts 'til the pain goes away.

Rep Power: 41 | | | OK I was wondering, My First Sergeant was mentioning Creatine Burning workouts. Supposedly if you can get an "intense Short Burst" you can enter a creatine burn not just a sugar or carb burn and burn more calories for longer periods of time. His claims where out to 24 or 48 hours. Has anyone else heard about this? | |
