Need to lose weight fast.

Ok I need some help. My command is trying to bar me from reenlistmet (not doing it entirely legal either) and I have to try and cut some wieght, loss inches around my waist, and gain inches around my neck. Basically for those that care my command cant extend me so they are trying to use my being over wieght on a tape test (under on a caliper) grounds for a bar to reenlist and keep me here for another 6months. I am a natural Endomorph. So I am looking for a healthy diet, that wont kill my energy levels, to help me cut some wieght. Any suggestions would be appriciated. I already go to the gym for an hour plus 5 days a week, do 30 push-ups and situps every other hour every other day, do morning PT with the company, and on my days off go to the pool for about 30-60mins. HELP! I dont want to stay in the @#$% hole. What makes it worse is the workout that will work I have been told to stop doing (mon, wens, fri full body workout with 15 to 20 mins cardio and 2 to 5 min jumping rope between sets of circuits and 15 mins of warm up stretching from the shaolin work out. on tuesdays and thursdays do 40 to 60 mins of cardio trying to switch it up to keep from being bored).

Check out the Sports Diet thread, it had some good ways to cut weight

When not active, I'd up cardio by another hour to two or so, it's tough but it burns off weight

Hello. I worked as a fitness trainer and sports nutritonist before I had to get a job that was a little more steady. It sounds like you are doing quite a bit to maintain your self, physically, at least. However, what is your current diet like? And, a word of advice, it is never healthy to undergo something that promises fast weight loss, it just doesn't fly. Healthy wieght loss-by which I mean healthy fat loss-is no more than 1-2 pounds per week. If you just need to be smaller for the 'ol tape and calipers, then try any of the intitial phases of diets such as South Beach or the Specific Carbohydrate diet. The weight you lose in a couple weeks can be substantial, but it is more often than not water weight, but, you will be smaller around the middle, and will probably get through your next tape test. I know a little about this because my little brother is in the Army and is working on passing his reenlistment examination. He's a little plump, he is. And, he eats like crap. I don't think a steady diet of Cheetoes, hot dogs, and Keystone will help his efforts, though. If you have any specific questions on diet or excercise, let me know.

My diet is thus; Breakfast 1.5-2 servings of a low calorie cereal (this morning it was raisen brain 190 cals a serving), for mid morning snaka serving of fruit or a lil more cerial (this morning its honey nut cherrios 110 per serving and I brought only on serving) lunch is a ham sandwich (totalling 380 cals) and no sugar added apple sauce totalling 160 cals total) mid after non snack is usually raisens 147 cals per box and I love those things so I usually eat two boxes, Dinner is normally Chicken or Fish, once a while butterfly cut pork chops or hotdogs when my day has pretty much been taken away bc of work and I have an early morning (its quick its easy). Side dishes with dinner are pork and beans (not great but) White or Brown rice and mixed vegtables. everything is measured out not to go over 500 calories (depending on meal it varies) rarely do i even eat subway or the likes but when I do I try to keep to the same practices. Love chinese but not eating much of it right now (like 1 to 2 times a month)

Ive read the thread the only reason I started another one is I have to make a significant show of loss in about 3 weeks or less. Ill be tapes tomorrow (friday my time) but because my company screwed up on the procedures that might buy me as much as 3 weeks. Otherwise Im screwed. I hate fade diets and supplements but dont want to be away from my wife any longer and thats whats going to happen if I dont get something. Calipers are not used in the army just the tape. So though Ive droped from a 23% on the caliper to a 19% it doesnt mean a thing here. Atleast in Korea. Ill have a Doctors appointment sometime in the next week or so to find out if the problem isnt medical, but after that its gonna pretty much be far game again. And I want to get home to my wife.

honey nut cherrios

They can go for a start...

It depends what you mean by a "healthy" diet. You seem to be doing pretty well apart from the "cherrios". I know quite a few people who have taken one look at the list of ingredients on factory bread and stopped eating it. You might want to think about alternatives at lunch if possible.

What are you drinking? Coffee? The caffiene does raise your metabolism, yes, but the oils aren't that great and if you're drinking white coffee out of a machine then there's a huge source of calories. Likewise if you're drinking soda of one sort or another. Alcohol needs to go too.

How much freedom have you got with your workouts?

Could you ditch the gym and go running? I know that increasing muscle mass = increased metabolism = probably thinning down but you are in a hurry. You would need to run/walk cross country aiming for a six minute mile over a minimum 5 miles every day. I don't know any one who's acheived that, even international competitors, but giving everything you've got to trying to achieve it makes a difference. If your body isn't up to running, swimming? You would need to do at least 3 miles a day as fast as you are able.

I have to question the intensity of your training, if you are doing daily morning PT, and the gym, and the regular press ups/sit ups and you haven't collapsed yet then the PT or the gym are a waste of time.

Ditch the situps - switch to vacuums or similar and lower reps. Unless your form is perfect situps will be thickening the muscles of your abdomen and driving up that caliper measurement.

When dropping weight for competition I've seen a boxer quite happily survive on cereal for breakfast, run 5 miles, go to rugby training, swim 1 mile, stretch, baked potato and veg for dinner, drinking only water - and maintain it for over a week. It's apalling nutrition and not much better sports science, but it works.

I dont drink coffee, cant stand the taste and only drink water about a gallon or so a day. I also tend not to drink alcohol because I love hard liquor a lil tue much so I just dont drink it. I have no freedom in my workout. Which is what is $%^& me off. Thats why Im trying to Diet. The breads been cut out (even though its fairly healthy....atleast for what you can get at a Commesary in Korea) We arent allowed to go grocery shop off post. We also dont use the caliper (if we did I would be under body fat percentage for the army), we use the tape test. Taping the circumference of the waist and neck.

Diet along wont cut it, have to start doing some hardcore exercise on your free time and cut the water down a week or so before your next test.

Do some serious Tabata workouts(hazmat has a blog post about some, check it out), allot of HIIT and some good ol' intense cardio

Right now I am using the Tabata's every other day doing Push-ups and sit-ups (might aswell improve my PT score which is already higher than half the company) also trying to do 30 puch-ups and sit-ups later in the day every other hour. I get done with special pops PT and the go running/eliptical depending on hour my knees and shins feel. and then rework out the areas we worked out for PT only with Low weight and high reps bc for some reason every PT instructor wants to go heavy wieght, 2 to no days on cardio and wonders why there not seeing instant results (ok so Im venting). This is just a bad situation.

Swimming's good, Tabata is better for burning off weight if you follow their routine strictly

I was just checking out the link you put up. Man, bodybuilder ladies are hot! Oh, and the Tabata method looks cool, too.

I found it almost impossible to lose a speck until I did a body cleanse.
I know it sounds like the only thing you cleanse is your wallet, but it really worked for me. Now I barely have to lift a finger to lose weight. AND......
I can eat all I want.
There are lots of commercial body cleanse preparations that include acidophilus in the regime (usually 2 weeks. +-$60.00).
There are dietary restrictions, but all can be re-introduced after the cleanse.
