On that note I'm outta here and going to lunch........lol. | ” | |

Yes, Lone Star is still here. It's pretty good but an even better steak house is Logan's Roadhouse. They have really good steaks and ribs. If you like BBQ then Billy's BBQ is the place to go. They have the best Ribs in town and the pulled BBQ pork is awesome. They were voted best BBQ in Lexington for 7 years straight. They got a big BBQ smoker in the parking lot where they smoke it all day long. They have an all you can eat pulled pork dinner for like nine bucks. Next time you come to Lexington let me know, maybe we could meet up. What were you doing in the big town of Lexington anyways?.........LOL |

I like Longhorn's.

We have a Logan's here, I havent eaten there, though. When I was in Lexington, I was young and working for a company that lays down new turf on school running tracks. Paid good, we worked like mules, stayed in hell-hole motels, but got to see the US. I probably picked up some sun cancer that year, lol. I'm planning a road trip soon, maybe I'll drive up through there. The drive through Tennessee and Kentucky from Texas is beautiful. Road trip will happen summer 08!

I actually put myself trough the same sort of guilt trip from time to time. When I'm in that mood, my "reward meal" is has a massive Fruit/youghurt smoothie. Don't know if you guys in other states know about Jamba Juice, but there's one right down the street from my school.
When I'm letting myself go it's either buffalo wings or massive cheeseburgers with avocado slices (you know the kind that are so big, you're not sure if you can open your jaws wide enough to bite it)
Mei Hua- can't remember, what part of the south did you grow up in again? I know you didn't develop tastes like that in England.

I'm a Northern Boy, Minneapolis.
Some foods though, you can't argue with how good they are, regardless of where you're from

Rep Power: 36 | | | Mei's right: good food defeats boundaries such as the Mississipi River. I just got through cutting up a chicken to fry. Got it sitting in buttermilk for a while. Mmm-MMM! Then, I'm gonna bread that chicken, deep-fat fry it to golden deliciousness, serve it with some garlic mashed potatoes, homemade biscuits, and gravy! May have some veggies on the side....fried okra is a veggie, yeah?

Rep Power: 10 | | | what! no brats and fried cheese? Next you're going to start threads about how washed up Bret Favre is.
Also, I beg to differ! Good food has many boundaries. North Carolina bbq does not taste like South Carolina bbg. Meanwhile, every friggen city in Tennessee has it's own unique way to prepare pork shoulder....much like each area in China has it's own kung fu.
But here's something we can all agree on: British food is pretty much the worst.

Wu, you're making me hungry again and it's only 7am here
Agree with ace, Brit food does kinda suck, though they do have some really good stuff, but their Brats/Sausages suck compared to the States No Cheese Brats
Though what I meant by good food/boundaries was not the difference, it was that you could be from another region entirely(even one not specifically known for it) but still find how good it is regardless. Such as BBQ During Summer we BBQ'd everynight, never cooked in doors once during the warm months. We'd usually smoke a good piece of meat/fish and grill it over real charcoal and do veggies and whatever else
