Rep Power: 86 | | Well, I have been eating fruit the last couple of days, but this cold was too far gone to be helped by that. I'll keep eating them to get my immune system back up for future colds, but after 8 days of being sick and missing too much work, I went to the dr.
He put me on prednisone, codeine cough medicine, some inhaler, and mucinex.
I don't like being on all that medicine, but dang, I think I put a rib out of place from coughing so much! No kidding, I got a sharp pain in my chest every time I breathe. So, forget nyquill, it's codeine for me now!
All I know about water is like the fruit, when I drink a lot, my body seems to run better in a lot of ways. I have also noticed that when you get in the habit of drinking more, you crave it more.
But I managed to get my green fringe in Tai-Chi tonight anyways! Woo-Hoo! Felt REALLY good to make progress after being delayed by injuries and all. Sifu said my stances looked really good. I asked my teacher why he didn't stick around afterwards to give me points to work on, she said he was "really happy with my basics." Yay!
But none of the instructors gave me the traditional handshake, or rather we did it long distance, when they heard my aweful hacking during the sash presentation. Seems Sifu just got over this thing. Can't say I blame them.
Next level, I learn a tai-chi fan form and the first half of the long form (108).

Not really, it's still a strain on the physical body, if water can help to heal and restore that and keep you going, it also will help restore and keep the immune system strong.
It's already proven, by medical doctors, that drinking enough water keeps the immune system working well, keeps the kidneys/liver running efficiently and all that together keeps you healthy by fighting illness/infection and feeling good all around. |

Rep Power: 111 | | | No one is saying that water is a bad thing or isn't essential to healthy living. However, the debate is over how much water to drink. I am a big supporter of listening to what your body is telling you. But water is the drink of choice when I know my fluids are being drained and need restoring.
And also, grats on the promotion Aaradia! =)

Any blood? Sounds like the really nasty cold/flu that was going around earlier in the year - takes 8 weeks to clear I hate to say. Just in case though, look into whether you have had a tb jab and whether it would need an x-ray to check you for it...

Rep Power: 54 | | | Sounds more like a mix of bronchitis and the flu to me.
Get better though, and congrats.

Rep Power: 48 | | | -You may also have allergies disguising themselves as a common cold.
-I use to take astragalus as an immune booster when I was taking care of many school aged children at once. (little germ bags!) Astragalus is one of the main ingredients in an over the counter remedy called "Cold FX" . It's cheap and has no side effects. My Chinese doctor recommends it too.
-I wash my hands an awful lot!!!!!!!!!
I clean my phone and steering wheel too.
My computer keyboard sparkels. I use alcohol wipes on the remote contols, doorknobs, taps and toilet flushers.
You may think I'm sick, but at least I don't have a cold!!
-I try to drink at least one cup of tea every day. (green or oolong)
I met a fellow who claims to have cured his diabetes by drinking 3 litres of water per day. ?????? I'm just passing it along.
Wine=good!!!!!!

Rep Power: 153 | | | Nah, I've had that painful hacking cough before. About 4 years ago. Actually it turned out to be whooping cough but ... I'm sure yours is just a bad cold.
I do normally have bad allergies and sometimes feel like I have a mild cold but nothing like a hacking cough.
Green tea with honey really does help.

Rep Power: 54 | | | Where's the pain from the cough coming from; the throat or the chest?
