Rep Power: 153 | | | Yeah but you gotta enjoy life!
And here I am eating an asparagus and feta omelet. Healthy but I like asparagus so there. And last night I made big, greasy cheeseburgers -- I had to -- we went to Cheesecake Factory a week ago & I ordered the cheapest thing on the menu, a cheeseburger, and they brought out this .... thing ... an oblong hunk of overcooked meat on crusty Italian sub roll. I asked the waiter if I did something to tick him off and he said no, that's our cheeseburger, look around you. I sent it back & got pasta instead. But ever since then I've been craving an honest to God cheeseburger made correctly dammit!

nice with some bacon too....
Part of the reason I train is to compensate for my appetite - I'd rather eat what I want and put on muscle than starve myself and have none. At the same time, I don't eat much processed food, so any sauces etc. are cooked from scratch. The only thing I'd be overly worried about is anything carcinogenic, or anything that promotes cholesterol. So have that burger, but not every day... (or week...) - and try and balance that out with loads of fruit/veg/greens/pulses.

Rep Power: 14 | | | I eat all my food groups nearly every day, with a low level of junk. I work out 3 times a week. When I eat out it's Japanese. Raw fish mainly. Sometimes some of the other stuff. I also occasionally have Chinese and sausage rolls/pasties etc.. But quite a bit of tea and I also love coffee..

Rep Power: 153 | | | Best diet I was ever on was a fresh food diet. Not raw food, just no processed food. No bread or white flour. No cheeseburgers unfortunately. No dairy.
Green tea, red wine, plain water. Fresh veggies, fresh cuts of meat/chicken/fish, all the potatoes & rice I wanted, and a little sesame or olive oil daily. Tai chi first thing every morning for just 20 minutes usually. I dropped 20 lbs. in 6 weeks.
My downfall was McDonald's french fries though. I reasoned that they were potatoes fried in oil, and oil was OK on that diet, so why not? I didn't know a thing about trans fats or the dangers of deep-fried foods in general.
Nowadays I've educated myself much better & try to balance out foods I love with foods that are good for me. Like my favorite southern foods I reserve for Sunday dinner -- cheese grits, fried chicken, greens cooked with fatty ham hocks -- and my cheeseburger consumption is once a month or less.

Rep Power: 153 | | | Heck yeah -- easy stuff too! There's 2 kinds of cheese grits, one is, you make the grits plain, put them in a bowl and lay cheese slices on top and let them melt in. This keeps the 2 textures (creamy & gritty) separate.
The other is to melt the cheese into the grits as they cook. This makes the grits really creamy (but still with a nice gritty texture). (Doesn't work so well with processed cheese.)
The recipe is:
Old-fashioned grits (not hominy)
Salt
Hoop cheese (or sharp cheddar)
Pepper
Follow the water-grits-salt measurement ratio on the package for the amount of servings you want (1-6). When the water gets boiling good, stir in the grits and salt together. Give it a good stir, put the lid on, let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes. Then take the shredded or cubed cheese (however much you want, but a big handful is good for 4 servings) and stir into the pot. Cover and continue simmering for 10 min., stirring every couple to keep the cheese from burning on the bottom. At the end, give the cheese grits another big stir, turn off the heat, cover and rest for 5 minutes while you fry up some eggs, sausage, bacon, and whatever other fatty breakfast foods you can dig out of your fridge. (If you're gonna sin, sin big.) Serve grits on the side and sprinkle pepper over the top.
Plain grits, you only stir twice, once when you put them in the water, and once at the end of cooking.
BTW if you can only find Quick Grits (5 minute cooking), stir the cheese in when you put the grits into the water. And if only Instant Grits, make toast instead.

Rep Power: 19 | | | I just remembered a place called Know Fats, which I think is a small chain of restaurants that specializes in low-fat and health conscious meals, including burgers and burritos and (I believe)pizzas.

Or do I have to be the guinea pig?
Haven't been to Harvard Square in awhile but I will keep a lookout for the place you described.
