Rep Power: 0 | | | Beer and Training Checked with a search to see if this had been discussed on DragonsList before, but I didn't see anything (at least not anything obvious).
A thought - I'm a pretty big fan of Beer, and usually find some sort of excuse to drink it whenever possible.
Obviously, aside from the issues of dependency and poor health due to excessive consumption of alcohol, I wondered what opinions were regarding beer, at least opinions of those who train regularly at any sort of CMA school.
I guess I haven't really noticed any issues specifically, and since it's something I enjoy, I don't ever shy away from it.
Moreover, I think tomorrow morning I will try filling my water bottle up with beer for morning practice, and see if anyone notices... you know... play it by ear.
Seriously, though, i'd like to hear what people think about beer and if it can be part of a balanced breakfast, healthy diet, and martial arts enthusiast's lifestyle. |

Rep Power: 11 | | My taste buds must be seriously different because beer always tastes like pee to me. I think it can be drunk without bad complications but I have to say, I think those billboards for that light beer (I forget what beer) that have like the super skinny girls doing ab circuits are absolutely RIDICULOUS! They make me laugh all the time. Reminds me of the McDonald's commercials during the Olympics thats howed "Olympic athletes" eating fast food. Riiiiight .
I heard somewhere that Lance Armstrong (I think it was) drank wine instead of water for the Tour de France I may be mixing up ppl/races/and sports but I heard that somewhere. |

Rep Power: 153 | | | IMO it would be an unpardonable sin for me to live in a town like Boston and not have a Guinness at the corner pub once in awhile. One or two on Fridays after practice is a fine and healthy habit.
When I lived in Fla. and actually had the room to do it, I made my own beer. All-natural, organic ingredients. Yummm. |

Heh heh, sorry. Not that I KNOW what pee tastes like, just how I'd imagine it tastes. Wine tastes like the stuff I cleaned the oil pants off my brushes with. Or the laundry water after washing sweaty socks, depending on if it's a red or not . Fruity drinks tastes like rotten fruit to me. Mudslides taste like coffee (which is bad enough for me) mixed with dirt (I guess they meant it when they said MUDslide ).
However, I will say that Mike's Hard cranberry juice and Skky (sp) Blue are not too threatning. But the husband loves it, he basically has a gaurenteed designated drinker 24/7 and no one but him drinks the last beer in the fridge . |

Rep Power: 0 | | | The only reason beer tastes like piss is because it's crappy beer. Get the good stuff, which is almost always local so I couldn't suggest any brands for you as you won't have them if you don't live in Vancouver. |

Rep Power: 29 | | | I don´t drink any alcohol, but a fencing comrade of mine said that beer is probably the best sports drink (alcohol free being best) due to the carbs for quick energy, minerals and isotonic concentration of these!
I still hate the stuff...

Rep Power: 0 | | | yeah... what is it - you shake up the beer, let the foam explode out, and drink the flat beer - like a barley shake... instant energy kicker.
