Xingyi Applications

Would anyone care to share their interpretations of applications of some or one of the five fist forms How do you relate this application to the five element theory, or do you

The application of the 5 fists when linked create and cancel each other. One fist will lead to the next. It works in both the creation cycle and destruction cycle. There was a good pictorial of this in the early book by John Price and Master Hsu Hong Chi.

I have a borrowed copy of the book that AppleB mentioned. Its call the "Masters Manual of Hsing-I Kung fu" and it has pictures of Master Hsu demonstrating a number of direct applications from the five elements. I understand that Sifu Price might be considering re-publishing this book - hopefully with more pic's

Applications

God! I hate it when somone asks a good question on one of these news forums and gets junk for an answer.

I don't usually post on forums a lot, so this should be a one time deal. Old man, to answer your question "YES" there is a huge correlation associated with the five fist and elemental theory.

Let's throw out the last couple of posts because their answers are found in any number of books known to us all.

Let's cut to the quick shall we

Pi quan: Be the metal.... period! cut away the defense like an axe!

To rise, drill and fall! enouph said! (everyone should know this!)

Zhen quan (water) to drill like water, to flow to the path of least resistance. You can drill up or down it doesn't matter.... just flow!

Beng Quan. To expand like an arrow shooting forth....hence wood....It expands, but also flexs back and forth.......You can expand with your kicks also........

Pao Quan: Fire! Fire! Fire to hot to handle it explodes (hint if someone graps you..... fire!

Heng quan: (the most all important one) the Earth element! To be round and to suround. This element should have much of the other elemental qualities!

These explinations should be enouph for you to figure out what I mean. Remeber these are just the Wei aspects of the elements not the nei.

It goes deeper, but I'm out of time

Good luck

My down load is finished so away I go!

Thank you, Paul for those interpretations. I have been away for some time, and have now just returned to having the convenience of a computer. Let me ask you this, then....do you interpret the applications of the fist forms to correspond with the acupuncture meridians that correspond with the elemental attacking methods used in Hsing Ie For example, Pi Quan. Imagine that technique driving into the Lung Meridian disrupting flow into that organ system.
