i agree that it's insufficient; i try to go twice a week. but then again, once a week is better than nothing at all. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | just keep in mind that while it's good for 3 months, it's still only 10 lessons... but where else are you going to find $9 lessons.
frank teaches hebei style... i haven't tried his bagua but he has more bagua students than xing yi, and his bagua class is tought at the same time as xing yi. like his XY instruction, he has very clear, direct instruction for BGZ. lessons are interchangeable, so why not try both and see what you like? |

Rep Power: 0 | | | it's $90 for 10 lessons, bottom line. you have 3 months to use those 10 lessons, you know what i'm saying? i usually go twice a week. i think i'm going to start doing it 3x, despite the typical sunday hangover.
keep in mind that henan style is 10 animals only, not the 5 elements (to the best of my knowledge, which is not very extensive). of course, all of the animals incorporate the elements, but i don't believe henan practitioners to purely-element line drills. if this is incorrect, somebody please let me know. thanks. |

So for example if I go 2x per week that'll be 90 per month (That sounds good to me) better than what all these schools are charging nowadays. Or if anything I'll see how I can make it unlimited if I get a good job soon so I can take up maybe Xingyi, Bagua too and the other good stuff .
So your heibei style I was reading it has a lot of fist and strikes with slightly less footwork. and Shanxi was said to be more evasive narrower stances and lighter footwork . I was given an example as with 1 style you strike strike move back, the other one strike strike and keep striking because it has so many techniques so i'm guessing that could be the one with the most animals and elements, then the henan / muslim style is aggressive so u hit hit hit but there's not as much techniques as the rest if im not mistaken

Rep Power: 0 | | | right. 2x a week for a month and you'll have 1 or 2 lessons left for the next month, depending on what day the month ends. both shanxi and hebei have retreating strikes; i don't know much about shanxi but advance/retreat linking form exists in both styles, where you learn to generate force while moving backward as well as forward. in terms of technique, strategy, etc i can only claim ignorance by and large when it comes to henan. |
