Rep Power: 9 | | | Don't expect anything. There are things that may happen (but it does not happen with everyone), but in telling you there is the danger of consciously or subconsciously seeking it. It is far better to be conscious of what happens to you in the moment and let it be.
You noticed your hands turn a deep purple - probably mottled. It is natural and nothing to be concerned about. It could be considered as a signpost that you are heading the right way and the body is responding. Just keep going and see what else happens.

Rep Power: 11 | | im just curious, but do your hands feel swollen or heavy? tingly or cold or hot ? because this happens to me also but my hands have never turned purple, that actually sounds quite painful maybe you have a very light pigmentation.

Rep Power: 9 | | | "because this happens to me also but my hands have never turned purple"
In the beginning, my hands would just mottle and turn a deeper red (my students are at this point), but now my hands are rather purple when I practice tai chi or hsing-i.
The shade of color depends upon relaxation, circulation, and other variables. It is no big deal.
"swollen or heavy? tingly or cold or hot ?"
That is other things that can happen as well. Again, no big deal.

Rep Power: 100 | | | Don't force that, since you wouldn't know what a *healthy* circulation or managing would look like. Blocks could be old injuries, bad habits, illness, or emotional. Try to only work it passive, meaning, you would do light work like curling the back slowly, and with no force, and then uncurling slowly, stretching a little into erect sitting position. Or simply sit there, legs wide opened, and breath deeply for a long time. Emotional blocks will result in emotional reactions when unblocking, don't force this, or underestimate. Usually, the normal slow moving work (called light body practice in Xing Yi if I remember correctly) should work on this too.
