You're right that the pure '5 elements' are all in the animals. My point is that the 5 elements extracted out as individual forms as we know them today - like Pi Chuan, Beng Chuan, etc. is a later addition inspired by Dai Long Bang and probably formalised by Li Luoneng. |

Now finally, given the fact of documentation and lineage or not, does it really matter what came first, who's done what, who was better etc, as long as those who wish to learn and study in this art, have the ability to?
My last thought: I find it quite an insult to think that these masters of martial arts happen to stumble on scrolls and manuscripts in caves. It makes them sound like scavengers whilst dogging, eh? ;-) | |
