Rep Power: 38 | | | Use of weapons in xing yi - variants? Hi guys
I found myself a little goldmine of xing yi/baqua/baji clips and movies on the web through using WinMX.
I've been taking a look at some of them, in particular the use of the weapons. I noticed when some chap (cant remember the name) was doing 5 element linked sword routine that I had difficulty in distinguishing between his 'pao' and his 'heng'.
The only discernible difference was that sometimes he would use the sword (looked like a long bladed jian) sometimes one handed (pao) and other times double handed (heng).
Im having difficulty distinguishing the differences because other than the hand movements, attacks were to same height (approx neck/head) and neither were particularly direct or rounded (as you would expect).
When I look at my training, I've done all the elements with both one and two hands on the sword.
So, could you describe any other methods that I should be looking out for in order to work out what he was doing Do you do anything specific, be it single or dual handed Have you found doing so any harder/easier How did it help with your unarmed training Do you do 5e linking routines with weapons
Incidentally if anyone would like to have copies of these clips, please provide me with a site to upload to (Tadzio/Chief plug time). They are several, and some are full CD's in size (500meg +) the most common being around 11-20mb size. |

Rep Power: 6 | | | Big clips. What type are they
I discovered that Windows Movie Maker does wonders to large video clips, without any loss of quality. You could get a 20 meg clip down to 4 megs more or less.

I gotta hand it to you, your one tough guy if you download a 500 meg clip youve never seen or heard about before.
