Rep Power: 0 | | | dumb question about "Beng" Greetings all, - when applying Beng........does the fist land at the same time as the leading foot or does it land at the same time as the follow step
The rythym of these is totally different and obviously I don't have it yet.
thx

Some will stress the front foot, others the rear ... others a "double impact".
You pays your money ... you learns that, after a while anyway, the question of co-ordination is actually less of an issue that how the power is being generated within the body (expansion etc.) Then you can make it work in all sorts of different ways. As regards the form though (as much as such things are set) ... it varries

In my style the 'fixed step' basic form practice is to co-ordinate with the front foot. but this is just form. The principle and body method are not dependant on stepping.
Thanks

Rep Power: 0 | | | As we do it, we put equal amount of force in both hands and in the stomp when the foot land. This principle is used in all 5 fists. In Beng, it is in the rear foot. If you do like this, putting an equal amount of force in hand - hand - foot, then you will have 3 directions of force: back, forth and downwards. This will really teach whole body power. But it is ok to experiment with stance etc. | |
