Rep Power: 7 | | good site As the other said more graphics. also its just my opinion i feel that it is unfair to degrade another system if anything tae kwon do is mostly fo sport since its only kick boxing with forms however i know of several tkd fighters who could really kick some butt. so case in point as i said in a previous post no system is the best system it is the artist's dedication discipline and proper teachers. also i can say this because i practice the northern internal methods and i have found tremendous satisfaction within the wutang tao in life and in combative situations outside of those two things it is well thought and put together. |

Rep Power: 38 | | | I think we - as in we the people who know - can always say 'but hang on, I know x who could do some serious damage'. However, the website is designed for the people who know different, and are just doing a google search of "martial arts in sheffield". I/we (the club) need to be very sure that people know _exactly_ what they're letting themselves in for.
They wont find padding, nor particularly a smiley face... However, if they want to learn something effective, and are prepared to take a bit of a beating to get something worthwhile, then its definately for them.
Too many instances have occurred (far more I might add than of "I know x who could kick y's butt") whereby the person or parents or friends are under the illusion that they can learn to be fighters without taking a bit of pain. WRONG! Probably cant happen, and definately wont happen at our club.
Im sure TKD or Karate or aikido IS good. Introduce me to someone who is and i'll gladly sit and drink coffee and lament about differences/comparisons between styles. |

Rep Power: 64 | | Good Points:
Color Palette is done well. It's easy on the eyes but still provides enough contrast to be easily legible. The info is direct and concise. Navigation is fairly simplistic, though could do with some changes. Things to Change:
Lose the frames. Yes, you're right it makes it difficult for other sites to link to just the content without having to go through your whole site. However the same is also true for search engines. If someone comes across your site in Google or Yahoo, it's a good chance that they'll get only one frame and not have the nav bar to get to the rest of your site. If you're really good at HTML, you can get around this. I did on some of my old sites but it took a lot of searching and tutorials on the web and the upkeep was horrendous. If you want a more dynamic site, try going with Flash. You can get a lot of shareware flash editors off the web that make it easy to learn. The best that I've come across is SWiSH.
Also, some graphics would be nice. Maybe a simplistic static background, though make sure it's pale enough that it won't interfere with the text. And I don't mean pictures. Add some stylish lines to the pages to sort out the info and what not. I do graphic design and layout professionally and I'd be willing to help out a bit here.
Also the nav bar on the left is effective, but I'd speed up the animation if you can. Or just ditch the animation and have it fully extended so you can get right to where you need to go.
Lastly, make sure you get plenty of eyes to read over the text to proofread it. Your spelling is good but there's a fair amount of grammatical errors there.
Good start and effort. Better than I did on my early attempts. Keep it up.

Yeah, but you can do away with frames, but maintain that look through css. You can add dynamic text, color, and tons of other stuff that you used to only be able to do through scripting. Seriously, check it out. Check out this

Rep Power: 4 | | | Input Firstly, I would loose any negative comments about other styles, if your that good there is no need to belitlle other styles even if they are crap, plus it does not relect well on you to belittle others in a public medium
You should add a little bit of history or lineage to your web site. It can help newbies and show your background credibility to the established Traditional kung fu community
as others have said, frames loose them aswell

Rep Power: 4 | | | PaiLumUmar What are you on about....an opinion/vote was sought. My feedback is no less valid than any other person.
I don't think the site is that good, it lacks content etc,??? So it has a way to go.
If and when it improves I'll change my view of it ! | |
