Rep Power: 0 | | | Master is someone who has a slave .If you don't wan't to become a slave ,don't look for a master .
Look for a good teacher .
And forget all that 'master' thing .It won't get you anywere .Only practice will.
And after you practice......practice more. |

Very well put Wu-ming!
Another good thing to remember is the basic you learn. To get your "kung fu" good, (this goes for all things actually, kung fu = hard work) master the basics! Without basics, you kung fu is nothing! It's like having a real fancy car with no wheels, it's good looking, but totally worthless driving...
Basics man, basics!!! Allways remember the basic!!!!
The has been here!

Rep Power: 0 | | well "Only if the prophets will it" .
I cant make a total promise, but i will try to eat real bitter once i get accompanied to the whole curriculum... It will take a while though. I want to learn the Bone/Tendon Qi Gong which we did last time, i really felt energized while doing it and i could feel much stronger too.
I hit a wall today, REALLY lightly, with a slap punch... My knuckles were red afterwards, even though it didnt hurt, i still felt the punch when i did.
Anyways, as we say "Eat bitter" and "More Chi, Train Harder"
"One day, man will understand, that i was the one who could change the course of history!"
P.S: We did a bagua single palm change, really nice, with the axe like movement in the end.
Oh, and just a question: How did some of you that came from other arts into the IMA get with the new ways of doing things I for example, am having quite some troubles. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Well, im patient All i wanna do now is train, but im waiting for my friend now to be a company to me, so for now im training somewhat at home, once my friend gets back from his stuff, we'll be studying kung fu (well, he was like 6 months in kung fu before going to karate kyokushinkai). Im gonna teach him some stuff, and like the obvious: The next quote is not always true "No Pain, No Gain" For xing yi for example its "Pain, but gain more )" or "dont sweat it"
Uhm, a slight question - why do we nearly not sweat while doing xing yi when i was in karate, after 5 minutes i was full of sweat from top to buttom! |

Rep Power: 127 | | | Hmmm.... it's my guess that most Karate are like more cardio based. With all that strike fast and hard movements, they tend to work up a sweat. KF, the more relaxed ones, TaiChi, Bagua, XingYi, etc... are more focused on flow, relaxation.
BUT.... when doing stances, you should be working up some type of sweat. Depending how much you push on it though.

for everyone - I WAS EATING BITTER ALL DAY! ROFLMAO! HAHAHA, THAT WAS FUN!
Schedules of today were:
1. Wake up at 12pm (morning) - Woke up at 11:30 am.
2. Ate somewhat, was watching tv.
3. Go to Xing Yi class at 2 pm, but have to be in the bus at 1 pm - done.
4. Train in Xing Yi at class - Done.
5. At the end of the class, we did Modern Arnis with swords (we didnt have sticks).
6. Came back from Xing yi at 5pm (due to 1 hour driving there and back) - I was lucky to have the bus come as soon as i arrived in the bus station!
7. Look some news on the internet.
8. Call people and ask them to train with you, such as my friend and my aunt - My aunt went with her child to the playground, and i had to call her earlier for her to come and do sports with me (wearing sport wear), so she said tommorow. Called my friend, he said tommorow, but in the end we agreed to go today! AND SO WE DID! We went (me and my mother) at 6 pm, my mother went to my aunt (she went there just to take some breath, because its hot over here in israel), when we arrived, i was there with them a little, but then said that i will be back later cause i wanna go train, and so i went to train for half an hour, came back, asked what time it is, went back to training, then my friend comes along, and so, we started training, i showed him some exercises we do in xing yi, and then showed him san shou pao (Felipe told me its the same as an shen pao, but im not sure about it, almost every set is made of 5-10 movements) MY FRIEND LOVED IT! I dont know, we were training for 1 more hour, i was training before hand, so i was training for 2 more hours. Oh well, Now i have to wake up tommorow at 7 to go with him again at 8 I LOVE EATING BITTER, MUAHAHAHAHAHA, THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR SUPPORT, I LOVE XING YI, I LOVE MY TEACHER!!! I LOVE YOU PEOPLE!
P.S: Sorry, im just so happy... Im sure my grammar here is how they say in hebrew "on the face" lol :P |
