If your teacher knows it, what has he told you about it If he hasn't said anything, maybe you should ask him and then provide that input here for those of us that don't know about the difference.

Rep Power: 8 | | | The differences are a bit difficult to explain, because in both provinces there are many XY families, and they differ between them, also. For example, Che style and Song style (Both from Shanxi), look very different.
One thing I have noticed is that there are differences in the movements of the forms. But how the person moves or issues power depends on which Family style they belong to.
One thing: Hebei style seem to be more 'evident' (You can see the heavy stepping and the movements stop suddenly), while Shanxi styles seem to flow from step to step. But this is not definitive, because Song style (From Shanxi) has one of the strongest shifts of movements I've seen. They seem to 'bounce' with each step, while Zhang Junfeng's system (From Hebei) has a flowing quality.
But the most accurate way to know (by watching) is to see what kinds of movements they do in the forms...
...or to ask your teacher.

Rep Power: 0 | | | Shan xi Xing yi quan Why would you ask about Shanxi styles Xingyiquan if you can't find any of them in Israel
Right now , all you can find in Israel is Abi's school .I've been to his school and saw what he was teaching ,and I must say I like most of it.
It's would be best if you first start practicing Xingyiquan for a while and only than ask so many questions .
Good luck |

I live in China at the moment .
I practice Hebei style xingyiquan and lately started practicing Song style too .
And although I don't know much about the difference between the two nor do I know much about Xingyiquan itself ,I know that talking is cheap ,and that some people know a lot about the Art but know nothing of it. |

You "know that talking is cheap" and yet so far all you've done is ***** on the one hand and claim to know nothing on the other. You seem like a real prince. |

I only practice Hebi style Xingyiquan for 3.5 years - and I don't think that counts for much.
All I do is talking ! sure ,why not , you are right .
Gong fu doesn't come from talking , it comes from practicing .We can argue about it all day , but it wont get us anywhere.
My reply was to XvapireX for asking so many questions when he still haven't started practicing nor does he have the choice in looking for a teacher.
Now I have to go and practice........... | |
