I have learned sensetivity drills where you both contact the forearms and both use the 5 elements to attempt to defenmd or atack (or both) in order to touch the opponents body with a strike, Contact is not broken. It is an interesating excersise and very different to Tai Chi Push hands. It also builds good tendon power!
It is initially done static but then progresses top moving, things tend to get interesting then!

That is also a sensitivity drill in Wu style T'ai Chi's pushing hands, at least! Wu Jianquan and Sun Lutang were good friends, so it is possible that it may have come into Wu style from Xingyi at some point, though.
