Oh, I dunno about that. That's taking a valid point a bit too far I think.

I dunno, I have seen and I have thrown some people into and through some serious shiznit, I have to agree with his assessment.

Rep Power: 100 | | | Well, I reckon I have thrown and been thrown onto more and varied surfaces over the years and I can say that it does more damage to be thrown onto something hard than something relatively softer. No garuantees that throwing someone onto asphalt or hardwood will end a fight right there, and no garuantees that throwing someone onto a mat will not F them up completely (I've done both to lots and lots of people) but on average, getting slammed onto something hard is more damaging than getting slammed onto something less hard.
Smash your head against a pillow, then smash your head against a cinder block and you'll understand the distinction right away.

Rep Power: 100 | | | Although I will never do it again, and will go and preach 100 ourfathers and 100 rosaries, I have to agree with the Unkman here. Some parts of the bump will not increase, others will. That's why you have cushioned head support on the car seats for accidents. The time for the deacceleration is crucial. Falling on a hard mat might deliver the lung compression, but not the sharp impact on the bones. I saw people bleeding out of cracked skulls with the pulse of the heart, like a fountain, that does not happen on mat.
