Rep Power: 100 | | | as a spin off from Zippy's song posting... some stuff of one of my bands:
S.N.O.T. (which stands for Stiff Nipples Of Terror)
first a song I allready posted here a long time ago: Brainriver
check out the great bass intro
great lyrics as well IMHO
about a little stream the guitarplayer and I would go to and just stare at the water to let go of the demons in our heads...
recorded in 1992 I guess...

Rep Power: 100 | | song 3: Medisch Centrum West
this was the name of the first soap in the Netherlands
very, very popular at that time
we needed something to add some extra drama to the very dramatic lyrics...
so we used the instrumental theme from that series and messed it up nicely to make things worse...
love is only useful as an overnight device
and happiness is just that you don't know the set of dice
I don't wanna look back for the mess I made
I know love is blind, but I found out too late....

Rep Power: 100 | | song 4: Good Advice (I think... not sure...)
live recording with strange intro
not a great sound quality, but what the heck...
mainly this is an improvisation around a couple of a chords
nothing more, nothing less...
performed in '92 or early '93

Rep Power: 100 | | song 5: A Town Called Yeah!!!
also live with an intro called Paul Mc Cartney, because it's an improv on two chords from a Paul Mc Cartney song...
after that there's a nameless part we used during concerts
we had a couple of those and they could pop up anywhere during the gig
the songs were the only bit that came close to being structured
everything else just happened
this song was basically our hit tune....
probably the only one we always played even after we got a decent singer...

Rep Power: 100 | | some other stuff from another band (also posted on the D-list before):
songs from one of my old bands: Mr.Twist
we were influenced by Van Halen, Steve Vai, Led Zeppelin, Dream Theater, Rush etc. etc..... Inside
my precious...
a compostition for bassguitar and vocals written by me
came from an improvisation when trying out chords on the bass and some pianolike two hand tapping
recorded it a couple of times, this one has some "extra's" as well... Out, out, candle
based on a poem by Robert Frost
my wife still thinks this should have been a hit single
oh well....
what does she know... she liked everything we did ProblemChild
an Yngwie Malmsteen rip off chops loaded joke...
thing is...
people tend to misunderstand my humor, so they actually loved this one..... Show Off, little guitar exercise we used as an opening song... just to show off (note: this is a recording made by the guitarplayer on his analog 8-track (so no bass on this one), live I used to double all riffs!!!) Been in Hell, a mutated Mr.Twist song, music came from like 3 different tunes and as we jammed a friend started singing and it turned out really nice.... I love the result Planet Earth, a classic that has be re-recorded with new lyrics (also by the guitarplayer on his frigging 8-track!!! ). I liked the original a lot better. The last part was very powerfull live, still makes me wanna pick up my bass and get on stage again
well...
that's all folks!!!
enjoy...

Rep Power: 35 | | | ok chief, tomorrow or thursday i download, and then i match and elaborate each and every solo within the month. I then upload, and put your guitarist TO SHAME!
there are few guitarists i cannot match.
And with practice, the few i cant will shortly no longer exist.
You are about to unleash me! |

yeah right....
good to hear your ego is bigger than your chops...
a big ego and balls as big as a lunchbox are essential for guitarplayers
happy training dude...
impress me...
btw....
both guitarists are *not* my favorite people
I just played with them because they were the best around
if I could find people who could play like those guys *and* are nice...
I might pick up my bass again...
but i don't think that'll ever happen....

Rep Power: 35 | | | My ego when it comes to guitaring, is bigger then the universe. I have conditioned it to be so. Even if its not always warranted.
(It irritates people if i listen to their favorite band though, and i just come out with "i'm better")
HOWEVER, i am better!
I shall impress, and destroy boundaries, and be like "YEAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Also, i'm a nice guy, and a good guitarist! Why not at least PICK UP the bass. |
