Very Cheap. There are always Westerners in the foreign students dorms and they are usually martial artists.

Going there to teach ESL would be cheaper, seeing as you actually get money. 'Course it only works if you're white. If not, good luck... you might find an employer that's not racist.

Not surprising that you'd be up to date on standards of racism.

Looks good but pricey. I don't know about TEFL in china but they give work to Western accupuncturists if they're properly trained. I doubt any bias is a simple colour thing - you could be white as snow and speak nothing but Finnish.

A bias towards native speakers from the country that invented the language is only natural so move over all you colonial upstarts and stop trying to muscle in on our main export.

Eight Fist,

If you go to Hong kong you can find many TCMA styles to train in.

My lineage of Black Tiger is still taught in HK and for free at that. You can also learn Hung Fut another very nice TCMA style ,i currently train both and reccomend them to anyone that wants serious training.

Haven't been there, but I've talked to people who have, and everyone who wasn't a tourist did encounter racism. Different issue though, in this case people equate English with white, so they want to learn English from a white person, the same way some people want to learn martial arts from an Asian person.

I kinda wanna go there myself...dont have time or money...plus I dont wanna leave my family (4000miles away!).

Sifu McNeil is a great Sifu!!! I would like to vouch for him, also he teachers "other" chinese techniques, other than martial arts.

Hi guys!! Writing to you from Hong Kong.
Jeff, I need names. This is a very closed door place. Running out of time. Flying home Monday.

P.S. Lots of TESOL ops here. Usually need a degree or dipolma of some sort, any sort. Some guy has a graphic arts diploma and has taught for a couple of years already. In Japan, you need recent education. They wouldn't hire an old girl like me who has been out of university for 15 years.
Yes the japanese treat the women teachers like crap. The Chinese are very respectful, unless you teach kids...they are holy terrors.

HONG KONG ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!
