Costumed workers arrested at Disneyland - Crime & courts - MSNBC.com ANAHEIM, Calif. - Cinderella, Snow White, Tinkerbell and other fictional fixtures of modern-day childhood were handcuffed, frisked and loaded into police vans Thursday at the culmination of a labor protest that brought a touch of reality to the Happiest Place on Earth.

Well, duh.
Demonstrations tend to be unproductive for those being demonstrated against. Disney's pretty good at strong-arming in employee negotiations and considering their employment track record the past 10 years I'm leaning toward the hotel workers here.

Rep Power: 153 | | | Yep, one of my relatives has just left Disney (Fla.) after 20-some years -- started out as Regular Jane cast member and became an accountant. She said she put up with the very tough work rules because back then everyone got good benefits, they paid her way through college, hired her when she got her degree, etc. But she says they're not the same Disney she started at.
Heard worse stories from friends who worked as characters at the park. Tough working conditions, no union, no one to complain to about violations (state turns a blind eye to Disney). Then they slashed benefits which were the reason most employees put up with the BS.

Rep Power: 41 | | | The state is usually good at protecting and siding with the worker but when it comes to disney they make too much money not to let the get away with it. I mean if Disney weren't there you would have about a quarter of the tourism in florida as you do with it. And the state knows it. |

Rep Power: 20 | | I agree with the fact they aren't a good company.
I love their roller coasters though.

Rep Power: 49 | | | Have you ever seen the subliminal mesages in their movies? Like in one movie the clouds in the sky spelled the word sex. And there have been other similiar things in other movies.

Ive heard about that.
Don't forget all the hidden jokes they make.
Disney going down the toilet with Hannah Montana and Cheetah girls.
I like the old Disney with the classic cartoons.

Rep Power: 41 | | | Never mind the fact that, when they decided to switch to mainly 3D animation ( since that is what sells now ), they fired the bulk of their 2D animation crew. And the fact that they are one of the few big animation companies I have checked out, that prefer not to hire non-US citizens. Pixar, on the other hand, embraces diversity.
