I was watching the apology of the Vancouver Canucks' All-Star forward Todd Bertuzzi on the news yesterday ,for his attack on Colorado's Steve Moore. While i do believe the tears were real and he is indeed sorry for what he did. I don't believe him when he said he did'nt mean or never intended to hurt Steve Moore. 
WTF!!!

You grab someone from behind by their jersey ,and hit that defenseless non suspecting person in the face from behind,but you did'nt intend or mean to hurt them
Hmmmm....... Now what could he have been thinking was going to happen when he hit him
I know he did'nt think that steve moore was going to turn around ,and shake his hand. Ohhh wait!! no, Moore could'nt turn around and shake his hand because Bertuzzi shoved him down face first into the ice! 
But he still had no intent to hurt him in his actions ,so that's why after shoving his face into the ice ,he proceded to hit Moore again in the back of the head. 
Then the GM comes to Bertuzzi defense and says he's not a bad guy and ppl are attacking him unfairly. WTF!!! 
Attacking Bertuzzi unfairly!!
He (Bertuzzi) hit someone from behind drove his face into the ice and then attempted to continue beating this guy while he face down on the ice. But Bertuzzi is the one being attacked unfairly
Then some people think the NHL was a little hard on Bertuzzi. The way that moore hit the ice face first and broke his neck could have been alot worse.
1. He could've been paralyzed from it.
2. People have died from broken necks.
I don't think he meant or expected what happened with moore's neck injury,but he should be banned for his actions. That's like a person robbing someone with a gun and the gun going off by accident....It's still considered murder right!!

once again think about all the kids emeulating there heros and look at how many rink rage incidents there are. These guys are setting sh)tty examples of sportsmenship.
But then again, when you have an entire sport entertainment culture based on poor anger managment and poor sportsmanship and acts of uncontrolled agression what do you expect Hockey has been like this for as long as I remember and I knwo it was worse before that. Its not gonna change quickly unless some real law is laid down.

There is definitely an unwritten, "let them fight for a bit rule" in effect. You can always see the refs skate around a bit before they ever try to break things up.
Its what the crowd wants. Kind sick huh

Rep Power: 0 | | | Actually Lance, fighting is OK until someone goes down. That's why it's legal, because standup fighting in pads almost never results in serious injury.
What this guy did wasn't fighting, it was assault, and Jeff C. is correct. |

Yeah, why don't they just admit they want to see fights and go watch MMA where the fights are actually good and the refs step in before someone gets hurt seriously |

AFA fighter "Chainsaw" Charles McCarthy did it just last wekend. I may even have a clip of it...not sure, though. It might just be of him choking the guy out. |
