Rep Power: 160 | | | Watch out FF. A mate got one of those US made mercs and all six cylinders seized before he'd done 12000 miles. I've seen better made TVRs

Rep Power: 100 | | Sometimes it's a matter of how you treat the engine. BMWs for example don't like it at all to run on low oil ...
Otherwise it's a matter for reclamation, and be obnoxious like hell, insist, if they don't react, wink with the lawyer pole, finally sue. It's not "normal" to fail after 12000. Sometimes there is a problem (and Daimler-Chrysler had it also for formula one parts) with completely bad charges due to material problems, or they get copies of subcontractor ware that is made of cheap (wrong) stuff.

Rep Power: 0 | | | Y'all can make jokes about Ford if you want, but I have had a couple, and they were some of the best vehicles I ever owned. Especially my F250. I am planning for my next vehicle to be a diesel 4wd F250.
So don't come crying to me when your little toy cars break down and you need a tow... |

But check a recent Consumer Reports test on a lot of the small japanese and hybrid cars...
Al ot of those cars that claim to get 45 mpg, etc. actually get about 27...roughly the same as my Dodge Dakota. |

Rep Power: 27 | | | Yeah they take their findings from reading the gas mileage on vehicles driven at only 55 miles per hour (come on now, even in d-town the speed limit is 70) with no A/C, heat or windows open.
Still after driving Besty (my 95 Buick regal, 25 mpg if I'm luck and drive like grandma) I'm really looking forward to a little 4 cylinder piece of crap that gets 40. The Honda Civic gets the best gas according to both dealers and car owners alike. And all bad arse rapper's drive Honda Civics. And stock Neons. It's how you know you're pimp, you get great gas mileage.

Rep Power: 0 | | | Honda are very reliable as well. I'm kind of an amateur motorhead, and I fully endorse the Civic. Just avoid any accidents. Civics are about as sturdy as tin foil. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Well avoiding an accident is always a good idea.
I'd rather get a VW Jetta or Passat. Chrysler/Dodge Intrepids are nice as well, especially the 2000/1 models that had bench seats in the front - no need to go to the back with your girlfriend/boyfriend. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Yeah, very roomy car. I outgrew most Japanese cars a while ago, although I hear they make them bigger now. My uncle's about the same size as me and he had to keep the sunroof in his Camry (ninetysomething model) open to get enough clearance for his head. |
