I think its too early to jump to conclusions like that. Above all, professional athletes are human beings who deal with the same problems we all do. However, they have the privelage of having their issues analyzed by the media at large.
I've ready a fair amount of statements from longtime friends who say this is very much out of Jackson's character. That doesn't excuse his actions, but I think its a little early for us to judge.
Earlier this year another lesser known UFC fighter (I'll have to look up his name) was brought up on charges of drug trafficing, murder, ect...Big time stuff. People were talking about what a horrible person her was and how he let everyone down, and it turns out some people he used to associate with were the real culprits. So there was a lot of feet being inserted into mouths.

Rep Power: 108 | | | No, it was Jeremy Jackson. It was someone with *I think* a hispanic name, and from New Mexico I believe. I just thumbed through the articles going back to January and can't find it. But it had to do with drug trafficing charges as well as murder. I'll keep looking.
