Rep Power: 57 | | | Hawai'ian girls are lethal! I saw a girl last week, cute little canoe paddler around 17-18 beating the crap out of some dude who i'm guessing she knew and who said the wrong thing, because they had mutual friends, alternately heckling and cheering. Best part was she was TRAINED and it showed! Open hand slap combos to a mean double, they wrestled a bit, she got mount, he turned his back under the barrage, she got the hooks in. Textbook. I left when she had him stretched way out and was just beating him in the back of the head and his friends were yelling "Get up!" and he's crying "I can't do anything..." Totally humiliated. LOL

No. No. No. No.
MMA is a specific sport, it does not mean "taking a mixture of different martial arts".
If it did, the mixture would predominantly be BJJ, wrestling, boxing and Muay Thai and absolutely none of the ones that you mentioned.
If the school does not have a BJJ coach teaching BJJ, a boxing coach teaching boxing, a wrestling coach teaching wrestling and a MT kru teaching Muay Thai then it is not an MMA school.
If you aren't in the cage or ring competing full contact under MMA rules, you are not "in MMA".

Actually, I am watching the HBO series "Rome" right now. Really good stuff. I have the option on that gives historical facts (because I am a geek) and it said there was evidence (although not commonplace) of female gladiators.
REALLY good series BTW. I am suprised by how much I am enjoying it.

Rep Power: 36 | | okok so in history all kinds of crazy things happened i got it
still wouldn't want to watch some girls knock each others lights out for a few dollars and the "fame". but if it pleases the crowd, women will be happy to catch up with men in this important area of life. btw from my experience women have a greater "fighting spirit" then men in many respects so i'm not saying they're weak, it's just not that entertaining imo...
