If you haven't found one after nearly two years in your area or travel distance, it might be time to look into another martial art, or actually go out and search, speak with instructors and try a few classes out and see what you like best and what works for you.

Martial arts in Detroit Area

Hi, I am a 22 year martial artist and 12 year student [Shi Hing] of Pai Lum []Error under master Ed Strok (Lung Shi Pai Zhi Lung[http://www.pailum.biz/board_of_grandchildren.htm]), adopted grandson of Grandmaster Daniel K Pai [http://www.pailum.biz/history.htm]. I too recently moved to the Detroit area. Occasionally I travel to London ON to train with master Mike Doucet [http://www.pakmei.net/], also trained by Grandmaster Pai in the Pai Lum system (he is also trained in and teaches content from other systems). I have been to various local schools, but master Doucet is far and away the best instructor I have encountered in the area. Unfortunately London is not altogether close to Detroit and I too am looking for some good (comprehensive and inspiring) local training until I am considered ready to train students of my own. If you find something you particularly enjoy please share.

I'm a UM student living in Ann Arbor. I am looking for a school to study Wing Chun or Tai Chi that are of close proximity to the campus cause I don't have a car. Anyone got some recommendations for me?

Greatly Appreciated.

Hung Fa Yi

Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun

Talk to Zach. Classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. Zach is very nice and I appreciate Hung Fa Yi's approach to Wing Chun. His cell and email:
989-980-3830 or email info@michigankungfu.com

There is a Wing Chun seminar in Saginaw at the end of October if you want to carpool.

Check out Wustyle Ann Arbor - Home for Tai Chi. Wu style is from the Yang style lineage but looks slightly different.

Great Bagua and Shaolin there too!

There is actually a lot in Ann Arbor, I wish I lived there. I am about 35 min away.

Hit me up anytime. I love to talk and do martial arts.

I did found the Shaolin Kungfu Club of Michigan and send some e-mails over but I'm not getting replies. As well as the fact that their website haven't been updated since 2007. It makes me wonder if the club is still there. I'll try giving the number a call sometime.

thanks guys
