Anyone ever heard of this??

Hi all, a friend of mine just started at a kung fu school here and is learning a style called wing gar kung fu, has anyone ever heard of it He asked me if I could ask the forum since I can't seem to find any info on it. Ever heard of it Apparently his teacher is the new grandmaster (lineage holder) of the style, passed to him recently... the first white one he says.. I dont doubt that. So any feedback Or is this just that rare

Sidenote

Just wanted to point out...
The word Ga or Gar on the end of a school name means 'family' as in Hung Ga means Hung Family fist. This is common in southern styles. Lau Ga, Hung Ga, Choy Ga, Hap Ga, Ling Ga, i could go on and on.
My point is just that the 'Ga' in the name is not going to be a big help.
I havent heard of a Wing ga but it may simply be a lessor known family style.
Ask your friend if he can tell you a bit about what the techniques look like
Still Wing sounds like a family name to me [just a guess] so my money is on it being a family style and not to well known.

Wing Chun was the name of either the nun who created it or one of her disciples, so Wing gar being a family style seems to be a possibility.

Yes, Wing Chun was the nuns disciple. I believe Wing Chun was named after her and means "Beautiful Summer" (or spring have forgotten )

However, Wing Gar... never heard of it.
