Sorry that you feel that way (hate people that think kung fu relates to everything). Kung fu is so much more than fighting skills. Maybe it will be easier for you to understand this way,do you follow a certain religious belief? Say for instance Cath,Metho,Luth,Baptist or any of many? Just say for demonstration you are Baptist. Since birth you have been raised in Baptist beliefs. As you grow and understand more about how your religion and how it relates in more and more ways to life in general, you also start to venture out into life. Just think of your years in that church and it's beliefs as your base or foundation. From here on out, your decisions in life will subconsciously revert to your core or foundational beliefs. In that sense, your religional beliefs ARE related to EVERYTHING in life.
As stated, kung fu is so much more than fighting skills.

it depends on who is asking and how they ask.

1. I don't know them - they should not know
2. I know them but they want to see moves - I don't either - I will however demo on them. I let them strike me first - then I strike them. That ends those questions for sure
3. I know them and they want to know what I do - I show, I demo, and I teach them what they know explaining that now they know of but will not know till they practice it.
4. If they somehow know I do but is snide about it - and want me to be a performer - I will do that too - but they will get some painful bruises they will remember for a week or more. I tell them it's not dance - I can only show on live person.

But havn't had to do that in years. In class new comers are another story altogether.
