Oh yeah, Sifu Shi Yan Ming. Unlike some folks who claim to be connected to the Shaolin temple, Shi Yan Ming really IS a 34th generation Shaolin monk. His students are really dedicated, and you'll get good strong basics there.

I've never seen him or his students in action, but if you've seen a Shaolin monk show or one of the Discovery channel specials, you'll have some idea of his skill.

Some other Shaolin monks (including Shi Guolin who teaches in Flushing NY):

There's more in NY / NYC than just a couple of Shaolin monks. There's world class Choy Lay Fut (no bias here), Praying mantis, Lama Pai, White Crane, Hung Ga, Lung Ying, Bak Mei, Taiji, Xingyi, Bagua, Shuai Jiao, etc... it goes on & on...

Take a while & look around. Trust me when I say there's more available than you can shake a stick at.

GO. THERE. NOW.

Most of us have a dream and desire to learn authentic Hakka Fists; most of us don't have the opportunity.

You do.

Now freaking go and ignore Wushu crap if you intend on learning how to fight half decently.

The info Ingrazael just gave looks very interesting. As long as your in NY,I would advise you to check it out. The films are nice to watch. Looks very good. He only offers classes twice a week for two hours each.
