ouch...
not only was Henk the instructor for that night...
but my friend Marc asked me to come with him to the new kyokushin class at Hardcore...
what he didn't know was that Henk had called all black belts to instruct them to set up the kyokushin classes
so I was the only one who didn't have a bb in kyokushin...
I'll write more about this in a new thread tho...

nope it wasn't that bad actually...
a lotta stuff is more or less the same as I used to do with my own instructor
the *way* they train is pretty tough tho...
and being the only one without a BB in such a hiearchic system is kinda strange as well
but they have great plans with the kyokoshin organisation and the Team Hardcore dojo....
that's what I need a new thread for
those bruishes will heal....
right??

Ive trained in quite a few Martial Arts systems.
Generally I only have one Sifu, but I do crosstrain with a lot of other martial artist. Alot of people are willing to exchange views, techniques and forms.
When you exchange you really cant say that your learning a new style or whatever. Its just a mutual exchange, which should happen more often in the Martial Arts world, to exchange ideas with no egos or conflicts that would be awesome!!
take care,

It's like trying to learn Portuguese after taking some Spanish classes. It's kind of the same but f*****up. I will take advantage of the free introductory sessions then try to make up my mind. I feel like I shoud try to forget everything I've learned so that I can concentrate on this. Comments? Answers? Questions?

No, don't forget everything. Some of it will come in handy but you will find that a lot of it was not very worthwhile. Keep us posted and Rock On!

Rep Power: 149 | | i think its hard to take on board unless you experience it
a freind of mine who does no ma what so ever came over once
he was inteested in my training so we had a freindly fight
basically he grabbed hold of me and nullified the vast majority of my wing chun in one simple move
that compounded with your good self and unk on my case made my mind up
gotta learn to grapple
properly

Rep Power: 48 | | | I had lots of grappling training in Eight Shadows Fist. We have not started that component yet in my new classes. Still doing blocks. ..."what! we get to use padding?"... Man! it felt good to throw that elbow again!! Can't wait for the grappling tho', 'cos I ROCK!!! It's all really hot dudes in my class too. P.S. my instructor has the same last name as my biological father and thinks we could be related. Freaky!!!!!!
P.S. Appreciate the advice , because it was either MMA or Pole aerobics.(I live in a very weird neighbourhood) I have not ruled out the new Karate dojo or the BBJ combat zone.
One of the considerations is that the Professor and I travel so much it's hard to commit to a term of study. These places are all belt systems (unlike my old kwoon) so they neeed you to sign up for at least 6 months at a time. Heck! I don't stick around in the frozen North for that long.
